Me and my dad are well up for buying a new 40" HDTV for the living room to replace the 32" SDTV we've got ... but my mum won't let us ... she says there's nothing wrong with the TV we've got. She won't listen to any reason at all.

Mothers, girlfriends, wives, they're all the same. Why do they have to be so damn frustrating? Can't they just be as carefree and willing as us blokes?

tell her you can't live without the HD Pr0n.

My lass and my mum are also against my plans to sell my car to replace it with the car i've always wanted, too. WHY?!?!?! It's my choice ... MINE.

Just tell them to get back in the kitchen where they belong and let the men take care of the important decisions

i have exactly the same problem.... i think female brain is really small. Borat's country scientist is ****ing right about females

You answered your own question Pobz, they're not men, they don't get hardons for big tvs and cars and trucks and beer, they just don't understand.

Example, you hear a really nice engine, V8 or something.

Man: **** YEAH!
Woman: It sounds like it's broken.

I'm not arsed about big TVs, cars or trucks... luckily, my manliness is saved by beer!

My mum is the most irritating person in my existance, but my sis is cool though

*Injects Absinthe with testosterone

NOW what do you say?

Unless your wallet is huge I'd have to agree and say she was being sensible D:

So I can't say that women tend to be more sensible than men? :p, k, wait... er, I want a screen that big too! :naughty:

Tell her that you'll sell the old TV and get her something nice.

She only disapproves because you're shelling out so much money on yourselves and not for her selfish ass.

yeah money and sensible dont mix, its spend! spend! spend!

Next time you get into this argument, say "That's not fair, I wouldn't have a problem if there was something you really wanted... like a new vacuum cleaner or pot/pan set, even if ours were 'just good enough'."

And just to put her in a better mood, some dozy old man has just crashed into her car (taken the wing mirror off).

Looks like i'll be playing the waiting game for my HDTV. :(

I am not paricuallry facinated by TVs, Cars or beer.

Mmmmmm, ethernet cables....

So she wins? Two men against one women.. it's 300 all over again, and don't forget to take the price tag off when you get it set up either xD

just take a magnet and polarize the screen. She'll wonder why the tv is funny colored.... new excuse to get a new tv...

When we got our 42 inch TV (which is all kinds of awesome) the first response we got from a girl was it was 'Too big'...

Basically the translation is 'It's a waste of money (that should be spent on me)'

:)

Show her Antiques Roadshow or some cooking show, then she'll want a nice TV

put a love movie whit leonardo dicaprio or brad pitt and she will want the TV

You want to replace a working tv? geezus, learn that in order to get new things with women around the old thing must be broken ;)

Get a Wii and snip the straps on the controller a bit. Then play Wii bowling. Problem solved.

Appease her with sacrifice -

For a HDTV, a new born lamb will do.
For a car, two cows and one of your limbs...

Make sure to sacrifice them at the altar of the female clan (kitchen) when the moon is waning.

Women can't talk with your dick their mouth.

Perhaps they think there's better things to spend money on than a slightly bigger shinier tellybox? Like say, going and doing something more interesting and stimulating than staring gormlessly at moving pictures?

Shit, my mom was the one who wanted a brand new HDTV and she's the one who picked a 56" 1080p DLP one. Let's just say I've never been more happy at one of my mom's decisions.

Bah cars are the most uninteresting thing I can think of .. but hell get the TV
