I can't find a listing of the 60 and 70's tax rates for Slovenia. 1990 you were still communist though, and I listed that, that's a big chunk of the GDP for the government to take X__X (and obviously it has to, it's communist, where would it get the funds to do things)

If the taxes were so low, just tell us the rates, since you live there. :].

It depends on your income level. But the income tax is very, very bad, it's government thievery.

How exactly aren't we free? How exactly is Bush a "fuhrer?" Because he's a conservative and not a liberal? o_O

Our current tax rate is catastrophic! I know, somebody should get rid of our bad an corrupt government! Our average pay (net) is about 150000SIT which is about 630 Euros (i don't know how much is the dollar worth)! Bruto around 230000SIT which is a little less than 1000 Euros! Now how much is 10% of 230000SIT------>zzzzzzzzzzzzz-----> you would earn (back then) about 200000SIT!

Tell me about your situation in america, whats your minimial and average salary?

That's not what the Patriot Act is. I don't like the Patriot Act, but it's nothing NEAR what you're thinking it is. It allows the government in extreme cases of national security to secure/search property without a warrant, things like that. I don't like it though, but I think you are severely mistaken on what it is.

USA Average GDP per capita is $37,800, which is 30,561.73 Euros

Governments we yet need to try

Technocracy= Governed by people biased towards science and research (could work but there may be problems involving religous fanatics)
Preferism= People are moved around according to which careers are in high demand (wouldn't work because it might conclude to military drafting and people needing more generalist skills)

Proberbly a wide range of government types that I can't think
 
Technocracy sounds neat...but we would be ruled by technology.Like instead of walking we would all have little rover things.So on and So on...we would become lazy and wouldn't even want to go outside.

I do value privacy alot, I am pretty shy I guess...but I don't consider some guy thousands of miles away that probably will never listen to a conversation I have and will never tell anyone about it if he does and no one will know anything, invasion of privacy.

That is quite a leap of faith. Btw, generally when the FBI or CIA is investigating you, they aren't thousands of miles away. They are a couple blocks away. Being thousands of miles away would defeat the purpose of fast response.

Here's what i think- (it's probably been said before but i'm not reading through every post)

True communism would be great if it would work. Everyone would be happy and work for the good of their fellow man. It never will work though because people are naturally selfish.

There was a debate going on earlier about socialism. I think true socialism would be horrible. It is (according to Marx) the bridge between capitalism and communism, where there is no free trade and everything is controlled by the government for the "good of society".

But that's just what I think.

The reason communism hasnt worked is because the way that most of the people who have taken over the communist parties have used it to futher their own plans. If humans werent greedy and selfish in nature it would work so basically we need soscialism but the peolpe in charge of the world would rather not have communism become popular again because it would be bad for buisness. The other reason it wont work is america has never given it a chance for the 50s-80s the entire ameirican government hase been afraid of any nations becoming communits because of something called the domino theory.Basically they thought if one nation became communist and it worked than the others aroud it would aslo become communist thus making america eventually collapse,not nessicarily a bad thing. If 5% of the americans control 95% of the money there is a serious flaw. If peole cant afford 2 feed their yet another man can feed that family for life with just 0.0001% of his money there is a problem Bill Gates im looking at you. PEACE OUT
 
P.S. Michael Moore is a great man. He donates 30% of his money from movies to charities and he tells no lies. He is accurate and funny to. Hes a man on a mission and i hope he accomplishes it. COMMUNISM IS A BRIDGE TO SOCIALISM
I gotta say marx thought that the way it would work was after people realized how they were getting shafted by captialsim they would switch to communism which is also flawed thus making socailism the only true path to an etopian workers paradise.

95% of them pay less than 10% of the taxes of which 100% of them complain that it's too hard to have to get off their lazy a$$'s to walk to the bank to cash a welfare check.

Communism did work at one time and it was with some North American Indians so why don't you put on some animal skins, live in a cave and hunt your food with hand made weapons and start your crusade to make America collaspe. We'll try not to put up a McDonalds too close to your hunting area.

That Capatilism works in a free trade enviroment is not in question... It's working quite well now and has worked in the past... Of course it can't last though...

As people are given the choice to succede or languish by their own will a divide is created between those that make it on their own and those that sit there waiting for someone to hand it to them...

Eventually the succesful get tired of shoreing up the lazy and begin to leave and the despots turn the remains of the society into anarchy...

Anyway... If you look at history Communisim in different forms has been tried and has never reached the level of growth, wealth, freedom, and high standards of living for it's citizens.

BTW - Reading all these pages I can't believe nobody's mentioned it... America does not have a Democracy.

Separation in Chruch and state is done through America's laws... That doesn't mean a leader cannot or should not have strong religious beliefs... Voters do take that into consideration however so candidates try to appear to have comparable beliefs to the voting population, whether sincere or not.

And before you say it.. Yeah there has been some glaring holes regarding the law in that seperation but if you stack up America against all other Nations in this regard we wouldn't be far from the top of the list.
