All you guys preloading HL2 i dont understand why your doing it, dont you want to be able to caress the cd in your hands? frame the box in your dining room, and read the instruction manual 30 times over? I preordered mine at ebgames, kuz i want the box n all its trimmings, what are the pros of preloading via steam?? :dozey:

Because we want to play it ASAP when it's released in 6 months.

I dont speak for everyone, but I want to stick it to VUG.

Because we want to rob VUG of profits. Those cocksuckers.

I have a feeling the people buying retail are going to play first.
That would be me. Think of it this way buy the time i drive to the store and get it you will be at 2% Just trying to download the final key to unlock the game.

I will probably end up buying the box version! However, I don't think I will be able to resist the urge to buy it off steam the SECOND it is available! (since I preloaded it already)

Why would buying it over Steam hurt Vivendi exactly? What kind of money will they be losing from each Steam sale?

I preloaded so I don't have to wait to play it. So I can play it right away!!11!!1!1! And I do like to have the box and cd's in my hand to, I will just look at the cds then put them back. :)

vivendi dont get any money from sales made over steam, only from retail sales.

Vivendi doesn't make a cent off of Steam sales, so we're supporting Valve, but not VUG.

CODED TRANMISSION RECEIVED

I am now as we speak at valve HQ, at the main terminal, which is guarded by a pressure sensitive floor, temp. sensors, and noise detectors....

...HIT ENTER TO COMMENCE "UNLOCK" SEQUENCE HALF LIFE 2/STEAM...

to be continued

you guys think its that easy.
1.start steam and play hl2
2.I dont think so
3. Imagine all the traffic that day.
4.Preloaders will have to wait like a first come first serve basis

You've just missed the entire point. Preloading HL2 onto our computers, ensures that we already have the full game installed. Once the release date comes along, it's unlocked and we can play. This method REDUCES traffic by spreading it out over a larger period of time.

Stick it to VUG?
Vivendi will pay?

You guys are foolish.

guys ... seriously just buy the game retail ... its the INTELLIGENT way ...
