Why was guinny banned?

Dunno, hope he comes back, i miss him :(
 
didnt he make another name? i coulda swore he made somthing like "Im Baaaaaaack! :)" or somthing. i saw him talked on another post.

halflife2.net should take hard actions against spammers and lamers such as guinny :)

Can anyone link to the threads/posts that led him to be banned?

Guinny offered a lot to this community sharp. Ive only been here a week and I could see that he was harmless fun.

I have seen nothing in this forum I'd class as spam anyway. Chill out people.

I never saw any of that. Maybe a bit of bad language but meh. I never saw him get any warnings either actually.

Chris, you kidding me, right? No spam? I think there is a lot of spam here, but mods are doing a good job deleting, locking, moving it.
 
Well, Chris, no need for that. In a lot of posts he bitched and was very rude to people. Thats what made guinny, guinny. But that sort of behavior couldnt be tolerated on perhaps the most watched forums for halflife2 so he got banned.

I'm not saying you are uptight or petty or anything but I honestly haven't seen anything that has really annoyed me to the extent that I'd class it as spam.
 
Chris, well, I guess you were not here long enough to understand. Look at his register date and post count (yes i found a hole) and tell me if he has served this community with valid info for HL2?
 
True true... Go to any forum in the world though and there's always one character like that. It makes the forum more interesting IMO

IMO he spammed, 50 posts per day and a shit load of them where off topic uselessness
 
For example, you are talking with someone, staying on topic. You are talking about HL2 Engine. Some guy comes in and start posting things like “omfg, I like your avatar”. This is one example of spamming. Also, here is another example. You already posted, but you want fix\add something there, instead clicking on Edit, you make another post like “oh sorry, were = where”, or something like that.
 
Looking through the threads he posted in, he didn't do any of your examples Mr.Reak.
 
He did to be fair... I haven't been here long but I did notice one or two of those things...

But like I said, things like that don't bug me. Or I don't let them get to me. I'm always so chilled out, and I'm not even on drugs. :D
 
Maybe people need to lighten up a little. I'm still searching through threads he posted in, so far he's posted more informational stuff than spam. And even the spam had some sense to it.
 
But in good friendship it would be best to give him a second chance. Guinny as a whole is a good guy, i luv him! Bring him back! i miss him!
 
I don't think he diserves a permanent ban. Maybe a day or two at most, he didn't do anything serious.
 
Guinny has already been banned from the Desert Combat forums once. Im not surpized he was banned from here...
 
i remember a guy at the atari forums
forgot his name he had like 7000 posts
he got pissed off at epic because the ut2 demo delay and he made like 100 threads full of porn
it was the funniest and they put "Banned!!111111" under his title
 
Why would he get banned from Desert Combat forums?
 
You cant see most of Guinny's spam because the 14 page thread that was made in 1 night (i think) which Guinny featured regularly has been deleted
 
He's been warned before by Munro, maybe guinny does deserve to be banned. Perma ban? Nah, maybe just ban him 'till the 30th of September.

Besides, the forums seem a bit more peaceful without him.
 
A bit more boring judging by the other threads. Looks like he made things interesting, oh well never new him anyway.
 
He was very immature. He made a whole new thread mocking a member of these boards. He deleted it because so many people were telling him how childish it was.

He posted in another forum saying that he deleted it "because of all the 4 year old whiners"

He had his moment's but he just needs to grow up a bit.
 
Thanks.:) I like it here so far, but it appears as though people don't like people that stand out, or are more interesting than the average joe. That puts a bad name on these forums, but I like em so far.:)

I only just registered but ive been visiting there boards quite a while and i think guinny should be given a second chance....he even raised the odd smile.
 
im personally glad he's banned. he DID spam, and that was probably the main reason he got banned. and some of his stuff was annoying or rude to other people, but most people on here are like that, so i ignore it. but if you'll think, there have been what, two or three new threads in the last few days since he was banned? and there were close to two or three an hour last week. obviously he didnt start them all but he helped keep them going by flaming everyone constantly.
