My monitor randomly turn itself off... going into stand by. I turn it off and back on and it doesn't come back on. I can still hear the sound from my comp so it hasn't crashed or anything. Just doesn't wanna display anyway.

Anyway, I turn my monitor off and back on around 5-10 times and it comes back on.

Is there any common problem that might be causing this that I can look into?

im having the same problem but i cant even access my normal windows account. im replying this post thru safe mode... im trying to fix this problem since yesterday. my power button broke so im jump starting the pc using a flat head screw driver. eff emachines!

Tried a different monitor? But most likely you GPU is just acting flaky. My brother had a similar issue (although his monitors came back on after a couple seconds) and it turned out his GPU wasn't getting enough power. Switched out the PSU and it worked fine.

Hmmmm, well I have a superclocked 8800 gts made by EVGA it has a 10year garrante on it. I also have a 500Watt Enermax PSU which is pritty dam awsome. May be its a problem with the modular cables... hmm...

Is this something that just started happening out of the blue? Could be something is going bad but you'd have to narrow it down.

My brother's issue wasn't that the GPU or PSU were bad. It's that he had a 24pin motherboard with a 20pin PSU (4 pins go to the GPU and it wasn't getting that power it needed).
