Well, I thought I might share this piece. This was just a freelance project, it took a total of two months of sketching and painting. In the end, I liked how it turned out. Regular pencil drawn, and as for the colors, it's oil paint. You can view the piece here. Comments and criticism is welcome!
 
looks fantastic I love your use of color, I also like that sketch feel you left underneath the picture.. gun design reminds me somewhat of the sten gun from RTCW.

great work :D
 
Great work, I thought it was a render at first glance. Everything is spot-on.
 
thats ****ing amazing. and you know it must be good as i dont normally say things are ****ing amazing. or do i... hmmm.....

the whole thing just looks like its a peice of professional concept art for a game :O

Arsenic, Munro might let you get away with cloning accounts, but don't expect me to. Passing other people's work off as your own is NOT welcome.

lol, I thought the blurr lookes suspiciously digital, I was about to ask for a detail shot to show the structure of the oil and the canvas.

Arsenic - I am an oil painter and I can ****ing tell you right now that that is a peice of digital art. You can't slip anything by me. I'll kill you.

Arsenic you can go **** your self and rot in hell. There is nothing worse than a little shit head like u trying to say they have done something they havn't. I can't ****ing stand it when someone has put so much effort into a peace of work which I would proberly even buy I like it that much and you go ahead and don't respect the artist at all and ****ing say its your work. I swear I would ****ing beat the living shit out of u if I ever saw you. It pisses me off so much people don't respect artists work. Especially when its that good and obviasly took ****ing ages.

I don't know the guy who did it, but I know he posts on conceptart.org so I've left a post there and links across to here. Hopefully he see's it and posts a reply. And links to his other work. AFAIK their all very high standard... the bastard :D

Arsenic used to be Airforce, Naxet, Crave and probably a couple of others too, just so you know this isn't the first time with him.

IIRC Crave also showed an image or two, which I imagine wasn't his neither. While I didn't recognise those, I do recognise this one. Munro mentioned to me something about NS? So maybe it was used for that at some point, which is likely.

Whatever, its pretty silly trying to pass other people's work off as your own. There's always bound to be some guy who's seen it before. Gotta luv the net for that, can't get anything past anyone anymore :D
 
OMG... that wasnt really his? what is the point of doing that? you have to be a serios asshole to pass something like that off as your own.

*edit* how did you actually know that it wasnt his? and does anyone have a link to the real artist on conceptart.org? and btw, i agree with what IchI said, just without so many swaerwords.

It's digital, any artist will be able to tell you that. And I'm sure the original artist would remember how he did his own work.

Yes Sir it is.

Again, its digital, Canvas is easily recognisable. So too is oil paint. The strokes look far more like Photoshop brushes, possibly painter but I'm going with Photoshop. And as someone on conceptart.org pointed out. He vaguely remembers commenting on it some time back and how it looked like Mullins (Craig Mullins) Marathon images.

The original artist also IIRC showed WIP shots of it.

I don't know who the real artist is, as I've already said. But it is on conceptart.org somewhere. I wish he'd turn up though. I can try bug him to do a tutorial for the concept artists on here :E
 
I saw it was digital even before the entire image was loaded.. Jesus what a bastard, I hate people who steal others work.
 
Yeah, my first thought was that he managed to apply digital techniques to oil paint.

My skepticism should have kicked in there. The worst part is that he's apparently making a website with his 'online portfolio'. Under construction, natch.

Heh, I'd love to see his face when he goes applying for work using other people's art and the very same people are at the same company, that one is a classic.

Or he's hired and suddenly unable to produce the same level of work, busted :D

Seriously though...why would anybody even bother claiming someone elses stuff is their own? The whole point of posting images (or anything actually) on the internet is the comments and criticisms, and if it's a good work, the deep sense of satisfaction you get from other's adulation. But if it's not yours, what's the point? Ridiculous.
 
i looked at his website ( http://www.arsenic.beakshy.com ) and i must say it looks very... bare, just like mechgodzilla said. although fenric, it does say aresenic on the site, so maybe he prefers this name.

is anyone brave enough to add him to their msn list? :LOL:

I was just hunting through google.. It's possible beakshy is someone else, giving arsenic a subdomain on his site perhaps. Whoever the beakshy guy is he's involved on another HL2 mod.

So don't anyone go whoising the domain and sending beakshy nasty emails. Cause it might not be the same fella, course if it is then heh.
