my B-day is coming up pretty soon (Dec 2nd)
and I can either get a XB360 or a Wii?..maybe even a PS3 if I chip in some money..but I don't think the PS3 line-up is any good.
Anyway I'm a big "shoot things up" fan so...I kinda think the XB360 would be a better choice at the same time the Wii Controller is ****ing awsome.
but.. Xb360 also has DOAX D;
and that gears of war which also looks kinda fun.....what I will probably end up doing is getting a XB360 for my B-day and just saving up for the Wii.So maybe I can buy it myself around Xmas.

Can anybody make me a list with all the good 360 games that are out/coming out soon? plz.:E

I'd say if you like shooting games and don't have a PC to run those games then definitely get an Xbox360. It also has some good games which are not on the PC. Get the Wii if you want a change of pace and enjoy Nintendo games.

Well I think If UT2007 is coming our for 360 it's a done deal.

I'd suggest the Wii and Zelda: Twilight Princess. It's got nothing but positive impressions.

Don't hate but I never liked any of the Zelda games.

Be sure to get Saint's Row if you get 360. If your a fan of Mechwarrior, Chromehounds is a good choice if your going Xbox live. If no live, NO CHROMEHOUNDS! GoW is a good choice too. BF2 if your comp sucks and you wasted your money on a BF2 that doesnt work on it.(Me.)

You can't play Bioshock on any other console.

I'd go for a 360 if your pc is lacking in power and you want to play games like Bioshock, Alan Wake etc at decent settings and/or if you play most of your multiplayer games online. Check out the exclusives too - Mass Effect and Lost Planet are two of my most wanted games right now, both look awesome. Plenty of traditional and high quality titles.

If your pc is up to date, or you prefer to play games with friends in the same room, the wii is pretty much a no brainer, especially if you're into first party Nintnedo games. This is where I expect to find the best exclusive titles over the next 3-4 years. More innovation, creativity and whacky games that make you smile.

Hmm, well at this point in time i'd say the 360 as it's the only one i own due to the Wii not being out, but it's released on my b-day on the 8th so i'm getting it for it :p

Get the 360 & buy the wii later, especially if your pc isnt up to par.

I'd get a 360 just because if you have the choice, go for the more expensive one. The 360 does have some pretty good games like yeah Gears of War for instance will probably be awesome.
Then I'd save up for a Wii with any birthday money you get. Some of it's launch games aren't all that great if you're only properly into Shooting games, but around Christmas time Metroid et al should be out. Metroid pretty much promises to be amazing.

That's a point, i'm gonna have to setup my Cube again and actually complete Metroid 1 + 2 :p

I would go with the Wii, simply because most of the 360's good games are either ports from the PC or will be ported to the PC in the near future. And since most of them are shooters I'd rather play them on a PC.

As far as the Wii, I think it has one or two really appealing titles. I'm sure more will come eventually though.

360, it'll be easier to get a hold of a Wii after it's been released for a bit, and more titles will be out for it.

Xbox 360:

Dead Rising
Saints Row
Splinter Cell Double Agent
Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter
Gears of War
F.E.A.R
Condemned Criminal Origins
Rainbow Six Vegas

Those are the games currently out for Xbox 360, or coming out within the next few weeks. There are a ton more coming out, but these are just off the top of my head.

''All the guys, who I know, who are in the industry and go to the big gamming conventions to discuss the future of video games tell me that the only reason XBOX360 rushed to get their system out first was because PS3 and the WII was going to kick their asses. The system will melt a hole through your floor and will freeze cause they rushed distribution. I would say wait... I am waiting for the PS3 and the WII. Cause I know XBOX360 is going to be blown out of the water. Some of the shit the other systems are comming up with haven't been seen before in the gamming world... Like the shit they are doing with the lighting... boggles my friggen mind... I am waiting.... But whatever you want man.''

That guy is a dumbass.

I'm guessing he's about 12 years old :/ ... he can't spell and personally i think his opinion sucks :p

Since I have a badass computer, I vote Wii, because it's time for something different, other than graphix. Innovation is the way to go.

Haha, posts like that are hilarious.

All I know is that the 360 can do a game like Gears of War within a year of its lifetime, and this is good enough for me to make me stay with my 360.

In your position, I'd go for the 360. It's getting a whackload of great, great games in the next few months (R6: Vegas, Gears of War, Bioshock, Alan Wake, Lost Planet, etc.), and a great deal of the games for that system are shooters. I have one myself, and while it wasn't worth it when I got it on launch, there's no question that it's going to be worth it by December.

Once Christmas rolls around, you might want to look into the Wii. I'm holding off until then (since by that time I'll have the money and the stores will have the supplies), but the games might not be quite your style.

[edit] Yeah, Crush, that guy's a moron. He thinks that somehow the PS3 (and Wii!!) can do lighting that the 360 can't.

f you don't have much money/don't need a console capable of DVD, or Next gen dvd (blu ray and HD-DVD)don't have a HDTV/Monitor, don't care about visuals all that much... go for the Wii.

otherwise, treat yourself to a xbox 360.. or wait for the ps3.

remember if all that you are concerned with is the controller of the wii, ps3 has similar functionality, plus blue ray and a powerful GPU/CPU combo.

also I wouldn't rule out MS coming out with a motion sensitive peripheral in the future...

The PS3 can't do much that the Wiimote and Nunchunk combo can - it is very much a cut down imitation and shouldn't be compared like for like.

If I had money, Wii for sure. Have some backbone and support innovation, not bloody graphics.

I plan to get a Xbox 360 first then get a Nintendo Wii. But if I had to choose between one I would get the 360 because it has a lot of games already out and the Wii is going to have some problems when it first comes out just like any other console unit. Hey maybe you can ask for a 360 on your birthday then ask for a Wii on X-mas :D

Nintendo's consoles are always, always solid. I've never had one crap out on me at any point (and neither has anyone I know), and I'm sure they've never even come close to the "industry standard" 3-5% defective-unit rating for the first shipment, and the Wii will probably be no different :)

Ænema: :D Hope you like it.

Even though I am a Nintendo fan-boy, I'd say 360 at this stage. At release of the Wii there are only going to be 3 FPS games: Red Steel, Far Cry: Vengeance & Call of Duty 3. We don't know whether any of these are going to be any good. And if you aren't a Nintendo fan, there isn't much more at launch.
I do reccomend you get a Wii at some point though. It will be the home for exclusive FPSs this time next year.

And the only problem I've ever had with a Nintendo console is my N64 taking a while to read cartridges unless you hold them in the socket at start up. Mind you, it is 10 years old. And was unplugged for about 3 years at the arrival of the GC.

Get some more money and get both..but if you want my personal opinion..get the Wii.

You say that, and I tend to agree, but how can any gamer can pass up on a new Zelda, especially at Christmas? :)

During the day it'll be Wii Sports with my little bro/friends/parents and when everyone is in bed it'll be Zelda goodness into the wee hours

Christmas and a new Nintendo console ftw.

Yep agreed, well ... except on release day, by the time Christmas comes i'm hoping to have finished Zelda near enough and wanna get Mario Galaxies :p

Well, exactly. I would rather die than pass it up. Nothing is going to hold me back from my daily dosage of Wii.

But you and I are Nintendo fanboys. Zelda is a way of life. And at least one of us is still making Wii jokes.

If there's one thing about Nintendo, is their consoles are very sturdy and don't die like other consoles. My Xbox dvd drive died almost a year ago - I had only used it for a couple years. My PS2 dvd drive is on its last legs and I've had that a little longer - however every one of my friends that have a PS2 have had to get a new one since then because the system has died.

I don't know a single person that has had to replace their SNES, 64 or GC.
