Wikipedia... Down?

It's not working for me...

Shows how reliant I am on wikipedia that I noticed it was down before I found this thread :p

EDIT: It's sort of working, but running really slow and keeps getting stuck on loading

www.citizendium.org

It's supposed to be better than wiki. You gotta prove who you are before you can get an account. I actually contributed a few things wiki didn't have and Citizendium rejected me because all my ID is on my person. I actually think the project fails already. They're new and don't have as many articles as wiki does -- I was going to write them a few on paleolithic man, as well as some computer science related articles, but like I said I can't get accepted. Also, they want to be a "credible font of human knowledge", but they don't want "pornographic" or "sexually focused" information out side of biology, which is a good bit of human knowledge right there not part of their project. I do empathize with them, as what's the point in an article on a porn star?

Whats the point of finding out about people?

Frankly Citizendium is doomed, at least in my opinion. Anything it comes up with (content/quality) that wikipedia doesn't have will likely be incorporated into wikipedia anyway.

My main issue with it is I don't think it'll command the trust it sets out to. I can't imagine myself thinking "oh, Citizendium, they're peer-reviewed and professional, I trust everything here sooo much more than wikipedia".

Wikipedia down, but back already? Oh, how I hoped for a permanent crash and destruction of the servers... :p

Professionally reviewed, actually.

I trust it more than Wikipeida - not that I use it much due to its, thus far, small range of articles.
