This is just something to see how many people went out to get an expensive graphics card that is HDR compatiable, JUST for this game.
And how many people have got a next to impossiable chance with this, who can't afford a $300 card.

Let's just say my graphics card will throw up if it tries to play LC. :( It doesn't have HDR compatibility, I don't think.

I'm in the process of going from:
AMD 2800+ Barton OC'd
1.5G PC2700 Corsair XMS
ATI 9800XT (AGP X8)

to

AMD 64 X2 4800 or FX-55
2G PC3200 Dual Channel Corsair (pro or XMS)
7800GTX (PCI-Express)
(+ new MB)

Depends on if I can convince the wife - she's get my 2800+, PC2700, 9800XT out of it in the deal :naughty:

I'm a trying..... don't think my current system can hold up (9800XT) to Lost Coast.

Hulk

I'll be rocking the 2.2 p4, 512 ram and 9600xt, im ready god damnit.

Is it possible to play Lost Coast without the HDR enabled? I just want to try the level out.

yes. If the option isn't put into the video settings you can probably disable it from the console.

I'm confident that if I try to play LC with max settings, I will pull off about the same as 3dmark 05. 5 fps. Maybe 10 or 15 if I look straight down.
I have an AMD 2000+, FX 5900, and 1GB ram.

I'd better be ready...

AMD64 3200+
1gb pc3200 ram
Leadtek 6800gt pci-e

I should be good, just built my computer a couple a few months ago.

Amd 64 3700+
3 Sticks of 512 Corsair XMS pc3200
ATI x850xtPE agp version
2 WD 250gb 7200 rpm hard drives in Raid 0

Mine should be more than good:

Asus P4P800-E Deluxe
2 Gigs of RAM
3.2Ghz Processor (Intel Pentium 4)
Radeon X850 XT 256MB

My entire PC will break into a sweat the moment the menu screen appears.

The poll options are a bit... weird...

I'm between the first and second option.

1.7 GHz Celeron (Updating to 2.5 GHz this Fall)
512 SDRAM
Radeon [email protected]/232.88

I guess I won't see the whole glory of Lost Coast, but I won't be left behind in the dust, either. :p

My curret pc wont be able to run it.But ill have this around november.

* Cooler Master Wave Master Yellow
* Fortron/Source Powersupply ATX 550W
* EPoX EP-9NPA+ SLI,nForce4 SLI,Socket-939
* AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 2.4GHz Socket 939,
* Corsair Value S. PC3200 DDR-DIMM 1024MB
* Club3D GeForce 6600GT SLI 128MB PCI-E
* Samsung SpinPoint P120S 200GB SATA2
* Sony Floppy Drive, 3,5" 1,44MB Black
* Samsung DVD recorder TS-H552U Black OEM
* Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2

Except with 6800s and 2 gigs of ram :imu:

Dudes, what's HDR compatibility? I stopped caring about these terms after i got my new PC

lol. My computer MIGHT be able to. MIGHT. I only got 512mb ram and 2ghz and a GeForce NX6600. So i might be able to play it on LOW. Maybe.....just...low.:(

You'll play it on Medium with 20-30 fps. My best guess.

Aww, don't be so negative - I now play all games on 20-30 FPS. It really isn't that bad. It's similar to 50 once you get used to it. :D [/sarcasm]

Someone should make a LC mod when it's relesed so that people without NASA super computers can play it.

Half-Life 2 Lost Coast: No HDR, Low-Res Textures, SIMSL (Splitted into many small levels) Edition!

Available at steampowered.com. Lost Coast (R) is not included.

Surely it cant just be two graphics cards that can run this game, my specs are as follows but I dont have a clue whether I can run it or not, does anyone know?

Radeon X300 128MB Ram Edition
1GB DDR Ram
Sound Blaster 24bit
3Ghz Hyperthreaded Pentium 4 Processor
Windows Xp Home

should work fine on mine, if it dosent, my pc may have a small run in with a window, followed by a bus

I guess I should of added more Poll Options. :p Anyways, thanks for voting! :D Hearing there MIGHT be a, VERY slim chance I could play LC without HDR.

I guess we need to know the system requirements first. Both for mininum and recommended.

Yes, I couldn't agree more, and you're welcome.

As it has been mentioned before on these very forums, you'll be able to turn off HDR in LC. But even then, hi-res textures will eat up your RAM, and vast maps will torture your CPU.

Official system requirements to play LC are already announced. IMO, to play LC smoothly but not in all glory you'll need at least:

3 GHz, prefferably Ahtlon (3000+)
768 DDRAM, or 1 GB SDRAM.
A video card no lower than Radeon 9550 or equivalent (I don't know much about GeForce, but if it's an FX and it's 5200 or lower - you can forget about LC for sure).

Ohh yeah. That leaves me out alright. My CPU is a 2.0 GHz. Yeah, well. There's always Aftermath! :)

I said smoothly, meaning no lower than 30 FPS. 2.0 GHz isn't that bad, - it depends on what kind of CPU is it. Celeron does a poor job in gaming, Pentium is better, and Athlon leaves everyone in the dust.

Then whose computer is it in your sig? :p

don't think so..

2.8ghz; 1gb ram; r9600le :(
although, it matches the minimum requirements..:naughty:

Beavermon, you have an AMD 64 CPU, that's quite an advantage. You also have just about enough RAM, too. If your VGA (video card) is 128-bit, then you're safe.

unique, your PC should handle LC pretty good, considering the fact that you have 1 GB RAM and a decent video card. Your CPU also is just 200 MHz away from 3 GHz, - not much of a difference, is it?

Seriously, I don't get it why you're all so worried. You've probably been bullied by Alienware users and those who upgrade their PCs monthly.

Now I truly have something to worry about. My PC is 1.7 GHz Celeron, 512 SDRAM and an overlocked 9550 (thanks to Unfocused for the OC'ing info). I'm planning to update CPU, but the lack of RAM will drag LC's fps back.

My 5700LE is a 256MB card.

Damn right it will! LC will ROCK on my graphics card!
