Windows Media Player11 out.

Edit 2: ARRRGH! Installer says it can only be run on 32-bit Windows. What kind of bull-crap is that!? They aren't going to support their newest OS? That's gay.
it's a freaking beta, you really expect them to support everything ? .. and duh, of course it's going to be in vista (their newest os ? 64bit xp isn't really their newest os, it was just a quick half-done side job), it already is.

Um... Usually you build your stuff to support your OSs from newest to oldest, and if you are going to leave out some, you leave out the oldest ones.

And if they want to push Vista with 64bit stuff, why wouldn't they support their only 64bit OS at the current time...

-Extract installer (mpsetup.exe) using winrar or whatever else you use
-run wmp11.exe in folder (not setup_wm.exe)
-restart your pc,
-run three other exe's in extracted folder (not setup_wm.exe)
For some reason that didn't work for me.

LOL, this comming from the guy who was dumb enough to flash to a BETA BIOS?

Nobody on gods good earth is stupid enough to flash to a beta BIOS. You may as well spit on your motherboard.

Some times, just some times, its best just to keep your mouth shut, and stay away from an argument that doesn't involve you. This, because makes you sound dumber than the one flashed, Beta BIOS.

Mind you that DFI did post this flash BIOS on their web page, as Beta, for us "Dummies" to download, just like you're downloading these betas.
Some times Betas work and some times Betas ruin, it's a risk you willed to take.

You and I did stupid and dummy things, just like the rest, Flashing a Beta BIOS was one of my own. What was yours? Maybe spitting on MOBO?

"Butt not but" Completely different meaning.

Stupidity; Is the one who gets involve into something that's none of his concern.....Look it up.

Good Luck.

Where did you learn English Barney? You may want to rethink this sentence so it makes more sense than the current drivvel that seemed to have been carelessly spewed here.

The difference between You flashing your BIOS with a beta program and everyone here using a beta program, is that WMP11 will probably not rape your motherboard anally.

Shamrock - How I did it was extract the .exe and run the three .exe's first (not setup_wm.exe), then after running them I restarted and clicked my wmp shortcut, which opened the wmp11 setup. I clicked custom and it installed.

Vegeta - Isn't the 64-bit O/S just a beta version of XP set to use 64-bit architecture? I totally agree with you though. Microsoft should have added support for it immediately.

Exactly, you have to buy a codec.

That's why people have been recomending other players because WMP is shit.

buy a codec for what, to play dvds ? no you don't (.. and if you were talking about buying a codec to play dvds, you're an idiot), it simply isn't working in the beta for a few people, including me.

wmp isn't bad, it may not be for you, but it's certainly not bad.

Read this you nimrod:

sry to tell you this, Im watching the last Samurai on WMP11
the retail dvd

Yes because you have the DVD codec installed. WMP11 doesn't come with a DVD codec.

The only other player I have player I have installed is VLC,I have no codecs what soever.

You can download Codecs for free if you Google it.

Note: use them at your own risk.
