I've been working on this map for the past month or so. After plenty of reworkings its now very close to completion.

This version makes the map nearly complete. Some very slight problems to fix but nothing that detracts from gameplay. We tried this on our server the other night and it plays very well. The rounds were tied until the very end.

interesting layout. I think you should work more on the texture usage. Alot of areas look rushed and dont have a consistant theme in them. Try using different lighting in the construction areas. I dont think that those flourescent lights fit in that well. Im not a fan of those circular pillars, Id go with square ones. The staircase looks like you need to drop it all the way to the floor, theres nothing supporting it underneath making it look unrealistic. I like the idea of your map though, reminds me of die hard. Keep at it. Good work :)
 
Looks nice, but you use a little too much brushes, and I know it's a bit of a hassle, but you could better learn XSI for this kind of stuff. For the cubicle walls for example, or the shielded ladder on the side of the building. Brush faces are heavy to render, and generally look crude. And the helicopter, while nicely done for brushes, hurts my eyes :D

Using models allows much more detail for a lower cost.

O yeah, and try using smoothgroups for cilinders.

This is actually my first map ever! And im still learning.

I know that using too many brushes can cause problems but I didnt have much of a choice. I will look in XSI !

btw, I saw Courthouse at lanmaniax... very impressive work!!

From the looks of it it's a prefab from the HL1 days. Really should get a model.
 
Yep its a HL1 prefab.

If I could find a model I would use it in a shot, but unfortunatley they are thin on the ground.

I've downloaded XSI so im going to have a look at that.
