ok thanks for the tips.. im not so good with box modeling but i will give it a try....
 
It looks pretty good, but I think that all of the problem is in your technique. If you would take the time and use either primitives or face by face techniques, you would get a better model. Splines are a quick and dirty way to get the shape you want. They get the job done, but it's almost always apparent when an amateur modeler uses them all over the model. I use splines on occasion, usually for triggers and such.

Take the time and do it right and you'll be much happier with the result.
 
making the object from a spline sometimes saves on polys and sometimes it doesnt give you enough polys.
