and why would the USA attack? its more probable to be in conflict with terrorists or some seperatist/rebel group than with a nation these days. Especially since the middle east has lost alot of its teeth with strong western influence that now permiates the area, and with the N koreans nuking themselves that just leaves China. They'll have a logestics problem getting any type of large invading force into Europe or the Ameicas. I guess we have to say sorry to the aussies they are probably the only country to fear such an event.

I have been thinking about this for a while now. How would you go in a world disaster? I may sound sadistic, but I want something small to happen like that, just to see how the world reacts.
Say for example your country is being invaded, or you wake up one day and your government is gone? There would be total chaos right? Well I was wondering what you would do in that situation. I for one live in Australia, and if one day I find out we're being invaded by some foreign army, I would say I would have to fight. Presumably, our army would be a little swamped (less than 500 000 strong) so I would join a resistance.
For arguments sake, let's say that the army has been defeated and the invading army is now going through the towns and cities doing what evil armies do best. As the resistance we would pitch in and try not to defeat them, but to halt their advance or sabotage their resources.
What I am asking is what would you do? Stand and fight for the country you love? Would you subdue to the enemy? Or would you flee?

I find it rather sad that about 50 % have answered that they would run. I would fight to the death. Most people here would.

Is your country really worth dying for? I'm no panzy, but no country on the planet is currently worth dying for, and humans fighting each other is retarded. Now, say some aliens attacked...full force, then i'd fight.

The very first thing an invading army will do is destroy whatever resistance might still be present when they get there. It's better to run and plan your attack for another day

If it were that easy, Iraq would already be a peaceful democracy, Vietnam would have been won and Finland would be a part of Russia. Crushing a determined resistance is really difficult.

There's no pride in fighting, even if it's for your country imo..

And while you are contemplating peace and harmony, the invading forces are busy raping, torturing and murdering anyone who happens to get in the way. Is that your idea of a good alternative?

I didn't say that. I'm not going to go out of my way to save loads of strangers I don't even know. Granted, if someone needed help and asked me for it, I'd probably do it, but I'm not fighting for anyone except my frinds and family. The first thing I'd do is get my friends and family, because that's who I'd be thinking about. It's not as if I'm going to pushing complete strangers out of my way to get to them, though.

If something like that happens, the population would probably be long gone since they would have known something was happening and there was nothing they could do about it. What I meant by the invading army is that it is sudden and without provacation.
And yes, as stated before, Australia is probably the only country to worry about invasion. Though, they'd have to invade in a specific spot or they would have thousands ok km's of desert to walk through! :naughty:

but you also have to think about the usual behaviour. I mean, even if it's unrpovoked, a Spanish invasion of Portugal wouldn't be fought back because there really wouldn't mean anything really different.

Its amazing that nobody uses Francium for an explosive, it would do more damage than anything. If I stayed and fought, then I want go to a place that produces or stores the stuff then cause some mayhem.

There are other stuff that can be used
220db bass speakers (anything higher than that could theorectically kill or disorientate the invaders)
Modify a van to look like a deadly war machine with serrated bumpers and shit.
Why dont you come up with your own ideas for defences

That's what would probably be the most "fun" part of resistance. Coming up with your own defences. Traps and the like.
We've all made traps as kids, maybe a few even tested them out on themselves. But that's why I think I would stay, to develop our own defences and create decoys. Don't you think so?
