Does the regular retail come with a printed manual? I've been getting really pooed off by useless pdf files lately.

Yes, and it's huge :)

Are there a huge amount of pallys about? I got a pally to level 20 int he beta and I really want to make another one when the game is out but not if there are hundreds already...

There are a fair few in the area I'm in, but not too many. I just always seem to run into/party up with other pallys. Which is fine, except at this stage we all have the same auras/spells so it kinda defeats the purpose. As soon as we get some variation going it'll be fine. Go whichever class you like best :)

God this is pissing me off. I buy WoW today, but find that I either need a CC or Game Card to activate the one free month. The store I went to didnt have the Game Cards in stock. What a retarded system.

I had the same problem. Borrow a friend's credit card, then after the first month change payment method over to game card. I'm not sure but I think you can cancel the second month's payment as long as you've entered valid credit card details. If not, you can just pay them back in cash.

You basically read the box, and it tells you, that either a credit card or a gamecard is required even for the free 30 days or whatever it is.

No it doesn't. Infact, the only thing close to that I can find is small print on the back that reads -

First month of play included
Internet connection required
Additional online fees apply

I see nothing about a game card. Infact, it says first month included, which is pretty misleading if they're then going to ask you to pay for the months following in advance. Kinda defeats the purpose of it being a trial month, doesn't it?

Can you transfer your account from the final beta to the full game if you are in Australia, America or New Zealand?

And so the beta ends ... I'd cry, except I wasn't in it. Here comes friday!

Be thankfull you weren't, the server lag on the last day was about 5-10 seconds!! ie my ping to the server was 50ms but picking up an item or casting a spell took about 5-10 seconds to register on screen.

I lost count of the amount of people saying they were seriously reconsidering even buying retail... Totally unplayable.

And before anyone says 'well its only beta', the US servers are still having these problems months after launch.

LOL shadow-warrior were you actually trying to play on the last day? You should have just gone to stormwind... Then you'd have seen the reason for the lag. there was at least 400 people all crammed into the city, swarming round and making funny animations. There were many more in ironforge, which made it impossible to even run around in :D It's funny though, as level 100 enemies were just slaugtering all the players and littering the ground with skeletons.

My freind plays WOW perfectly on a 56k connection, so if some people are reconsidering buying the game from a bit of lag, i laugh at them :)

ONLY PLAY WARLOCK IN RETAIL IF YER MASOCHIST! I MEAN IT!

As I said it was not a 'bit of lag', it was an unplayable 5-10 second server lag. I was getting a ping of 50ms to the server, the server was taking 5-10 secs to process the info - useless.

Even last night - about 10-20 horde raided Goldshire and the lag shot up to about 4 seconds. If you want to pay for that, good for you, but I can guarantee you most will get fed up of it VERY VERY quickly.

For free I'd be laughing my ass off along with you at the laggy servers and just log off, join another server or play another game - I wouldn't care in the slightest, but when you're paying for it, its another thing entirely.

And no I wasn't playing, I was in Stormwind in my pants trying to kill a level 500 demon with a fishing rod

lol, i was on a raid (Horde, last day at level 22) watching the Alliance get killed by elite guards, then this level 6 human comes up to me ands trys to kill me :|...

A few MAJOR points:
Last night was the last night of the beta! Did you really think it was gonna work without lag? Have you forgotten what a BETA test is? Did you not think that perhaps a lot of people might try to be in one place at the same time? Ever heard of testing the servers?

I hope these help.

Yah but what concernes people is the fatc that they may not fix it, i mean this lag happend at the end of the US beta to and the were not able to fix it, and it happend again on teh last day of this beta, now we can't play anymore and test if they have fixed it, but I don't know I got lag yesterday while we we were with max 40 people at the warrior terrace in darnassus fighting the deamonlord, but in guild wars at the pvp arena we were with much more people playing at one time and it had no lag at all, so the concernes of thease people are justified to a certain degree.

Well I'm not gonna worry because I was on the highest population server with about 20,000 people all online at once, because of a special event. In retail there will never be an event this big again, there will be more servers and the players will be spread out evenly across them- meaning I'll never encounter as much lag as I did yesterday.

I've played WOW for about 300 hours, and the couple of hours I played yesterday and at the end of the US beta were the only times I've evered encountered server-wide lag that i have noticed.
