Correction, night elves are hippies, and no one goes to Darnassus because it's waaaay outa the way and there's no auction house. It's there for hippy newbies and a few higher level quests.

I kinda wish I could start an alternate character with you guys... oh well... level 54 and going strong! :p Props to all the new warlocks...
But......Hippies are cool though....right.......right?

Darnissius < Ironforge < Stormwind < Auction house < Gnomes using the /train command

sums it up pretty well i think. oh and....

hippies > level 54 warlock

Oh I'm creamin me pants! I totally loved Warcraft 3 (possibly my fav game ever) so its incredible to be seeing those worlds through 'first person' eyes.

I was walking through Ironforge today admiring the fanstasitc views and people were telling me 'press * to run/walk toggle' thinking I was stuck in walk mode! No, I was just looking at the scenery and taking in the atmosphere!!!! :D

The world is great, theres so many subtle details but my only fear is how will Blizzard keep people interested in WOW for months, maybe years? most of the quests are the same 'go and kill xxx amount of xxx' its basically like playing a single player game online.

The multiplay aspect (as in you need to group up) is almost non-existant at the moment so it will basically boil down to paying Blizz £8 per month for the privilege of playing their game.

Its great, but i can see after a few weeks you'd start to get bored.

You'll find there are many areas that you'll need hep to finish (unless you go through the long grind of levelling up in relatively easy zones, and try them when you're too hard. But what's the point in that?) Tonight there was a dungeon me and my mate simply couldn't have finished without the help of 3 other passers by.

WoW is definately an experience that is best shared (especially when playing on comms). Even teaming up with ppl you don't know to help you achieve a tricky quest is far more rewarding than going solo.

I'll admit that more varied, story driven missions would be nice. Some long term goals would really add to this game and give it that missing sense of purpose. As it stands WoW is very much like Phantasy Star Online (but on a greater scale) Simple hack and slash gameplay that's best experienced with friends (but very little story and no role playing whatsoever)

I thought so to, but trust me, i'm on my last day (been playing a month straight) and there is still so much left for me to do and explore.

Grouping is very important...there are a lot of quests that simply cannot be completed without grouping.

I'm a level 38 Warrior and I was helping my level 28 friend, and we decided to a level 27ish (I think) instance called the Stockades..but we couldn't do it alone, even with me helping. We needed at least another guy.

Grr.

Much earlier than I wanted.

Pre-ordering tonight x_x

you get one month free trial... so if you're not sure about the game you can buy it from a shop that gives refunds, then if you don't like it after 3 weeks you can give it back. You're character will still be waiting for you if you come back a few months later!

Pre-ordered (much to my suprise)

Mindless whacking and levelling up has never been so much fun :)

What was the point in this beta phase? I doubt they could've fixed much in this time. It's more like a demo than a beta.

The servers are down. NoooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOoo. *goes into cold turkey, rocks back and forth*

I've had a few grouping experiences and tbh I've found it a bit shallow at the early levels. For instance up to level 20 the game can be a major grind and finding someone to group with isn't always a fun experience since unless you really communicate with the person and work towards a common goal it's just helping each other level up.

I don't have any real life friends who are into gaming as much as me therefore the whole idea of an MMORPG seems a bit alien to them.

When I used to play UO it was fun because I did use to play with RL friends, but now they're either not into gaming anymore or I don't know them like I used to.

Is it much different after level 20?

I'm really enjoying WoW, but can feel the frustration at the repetitive gameplay starting to set in. Battlegrounds sounds promising, but i'm hoping the missions will become more interesting at higher levels.

If it wasn't for being able to play with friends on comms I think WoW would have gotten extremely tedious by now. Instead it's proving to be a real chilled change of pace from clan matches ..... how long it'll last is debatale though.

I must be the only one on this forum that haven't played WoW yet. :(

I don't know because I haven't got a char over level 20 :p

You know the chat system? You press Return and then type what you want to say. I see things like "[1. General] Name: Blah balh question etc etc"
How do I talk in this "General" channel? Whenever I type a simple question I always get 0 answers, but when someone else asks a question they get about 4 people answering almost instantly. Am I not in this general channel?

My text is white by the way. The people in the General channel have pink text. Whenever someone is standing right next to me, their text is white too, not pink. It's like i'm only talking to people that are near me, rather than the General channel.

To type in the general channel you have to press enter to enter the text box then press "\1. <message here>".

And the same goes for any other channel with happy little number in front of it.

ie [2. Ironforge Trade] or whatever. Or [4. Hillsbrad Foothills LookingForGroup]

Dammit, and I was just gonna come over here to tell y'all about the release date ... only just over a week to go :)
Perhaps someone could edit one of those HL2 count down wallpapers and do one for WoW?

It is quite a fun game, but i hate when i kinder jump of the bridge at the bluffs

btw...on the last day of the beta before it goes retail are we gonna have a party in an inn and get drunk ? :D lol

Goddamn you lucky people!
EDIT: Oh, er, and woo only 8 days to go. Um, to anyone that's thinking of getting it, amazon are doing a good deal at the mo. I think that was on topic ...

At the end of the beta I'm gonna spend a gold coin on cheese, a gold coin on booze, and then use the rest to pay to as many women as possible to strip while I take screens.

Unfortunately we may be rather distracted... at the end of beta tests Blizzard have a rather large habit of invading the world with demons that are procatically impossible to kill, and turning NPCs and characters into chickens. There are players out there who still shake with phobia when they hear the cluck of a chicken... Those memories are just too painful.

They are as expected really. If you played US beta on a busy server thats exactly what its like on the EU servers. Loot lag sometimes happens but not half as much as it used to happen, apart from that, the servers never lag.

How is it i've only just realised from 2 posts ago that this game releases in 8 days :O Mint! :D

The server latency was on red tonight during my first ever raid. It was in the mines in Westfall with about 10 or more other people, great fun. Resurrecting fallen comrades and healing each other, but then getting raped when about 3 small goblins and some robot things charged us. We were trying to take on 1 enemy at once aswell...

But we're supposed to be meeting again tomorrow at 7pm to try again.

nooo they shut the servers down, i only got to play for 3 days...better then none i guess.
Can someone clarify this for me, if/when i buy it does that mean i have to make a whole new account or i can keep my old account?.

All accounts will get wiped on release.

I'm a level 15 Hunter, and I think it's the best class ever. I've got a pet raptor which basically kills everything so I can just stay back and shoot with my gun. Hes pretty strong, he can beat elites the same level as him all alone.

wait, its only down. It'll come back up *phew* im still buying this game as soon as i can so i dont have to do alot to get passed my mark

Just so you don't get confused, I don't believe that's really a raid, because raiding includes raiding of horde territory. You were just doing the Deadmines, which is an instance (aka portal which loads when you go through it).

There are quests in that place that you can do for some great rewards/xp, if you've done the ones that lead up to them.

I'm undecided as to whether I like this game enough to pay the £8 a month, but it's certainly addictive, I'll give it that.

It's probably worth a month or two at least :)

I'd like to see what battlegrounds is like and try some serious PvP before giving up on WoW (from what i've heard this is were the game is meant to shine)

Although technically they would be in a raid party, which is a group of 2 or more parties. So it's not a raid but a raid party.
