World of Warcraft Thread

Not that odd, since those guilds have beta tested the game (and those raids) for months. The crazy part of it is not that they rampaged through the raids, but that they had enough people at 80 and sufficiently geared to do them in just 3 days after the release of the expansion.

Arthas' fall was well done. Illidan was an excellent character pre-WoW.

When's the last time you actually played the WC3 and Frozen Throne campaigns?

And how is WoW different from those storylines? Arthas' fall was a "guy gone mental" story too.

Nope.

With Arthas you saw and heard (and played ofc) what drove him to do what he did and become the Lich King.
In WoW Illidan suddenly went from being a complex, 3D character, something of an anti-hero, to suddenly becoming a pure evil epics vendor moustache-twirling villain for no apparent reason. Deus. Ex. Machina. Same thing with Kael'thas now I think about it.

I haven't picked this up myself yet, but I played it at a friends.

First off, death knights are ****ing awesome. They are seriously fantastic. Secondly, this new "phase technology" creates so many opportunities to change the world without affecting lower levels. Third, I am glad of the more casual direction things seem to be taking. Those dumbshits who have already completed the high level raids spam the forums, saying "OMG WE FINISHED THE GAME ALREADY LOLZ".

No, you haven't. You have skipped 99% of the game, and the only reason you have beaten the raids is because you played them during beta near-endlessly. Personally, when I get this, I intend to be taking things slow and enjoying the game. Northrend is beautiful.

I decided after a brief period of contemplation to get L4D rather than this, since whenever i play WoW i get stupidly and hopelessly sucked in and spend way too much time doing nothing worthwhile.

The one reason why i'll probably end up getting the expansion eventually is that i really enjoy leveling up and exploring.

The Lich King should be invincible.
****ing blizzard.
No random adventurers should be able to kill the LORD OF THE SCOURGE.
