I wonder how many people will do that double-take look at the end of the trainstation bink, where he tells him to get in, he looks, looks back, then enters :) it's pretty funny the guy played it like he'd LIVE it and i wonder how many people who've seen that will do exactly the same :)

Just brought a smile to my face :)

I'm the sort of gamer who'd check everything out. Especially little things like that

yeah, i think people will do that ! play it like the movie did the first time, then give it a rerun and do their own thing :)

I doubt I'll do it myself during the events of the game...but who knows.

actually, i am the sort of gamer who explore things while playing. :D

When he opens the door and tells me to go in I will type impulse 101 in the console and rocket grenade all them fools.

The double-take wasn't an urge to explore. It's a human reaction to going somewhere you don't want to go and you turn as if to ask "do I have to?" or to look for a way back. This is the level of immersion that Valve wants to create in the gameworld: they want you to forget it's a game and start acting "human."

Of course, experienced gamers may resist this more than novice gamers would. We'll all probably just go, "yeah, yeah, I have to go in this room, ok. Let's get it over with."

fort that was quite funny, he does it in another 1 as well tenimants is it called where he says"hay you come here" and the player looks the other way to say who me hehehehehe

When i get in the train and meet the two guys in the train i will impulse 101 and grenade those fools , over and over, and over agian , then ill play the game.

sometimes that double take could also just mean that the player/person is just looking in the other direction to make the decesion of if he/she should go that route in this new place. i think that was what he was doing in the trainstation. normally if i look around its because im trying to make good judgement call on where i need to go if i dont already know, and if i come to an area where there are more than one area to choose from and know signs, instead of just turning blindly, look around to avoid having to double back and choose a different route.

yeah but in this case the guy playing it probably DESIGNED where to go :p so he's just doing it for amusement / trying to enforce that the game is pretty darn realistic

I will run for my life the firsta time... DOWN WITH THE COMBINE!

Its Valve playing the game jesus didn't you know that?
Yes I think people know that, they are reffering to the person playing as a valve employee,

On a seperate note, anyone know if its been asked who at valve is playing the game in the demos/presentations.

Valve has said the AI was toned down for the E3 2003 videos, so the player could do cooler stuff easily

I wanna pick up a peice of metal and throw it at a combine.

save first of course. :)

I usually do that too, but I'm thinking of not doing that with HL2 as it will have more replay value if some things are left to discover after I beat the game.

Are you kidding!!

We didn't wait this long to skip levels!! I will see everything there is to see in this game!!! They say you can spend hours in C17 walking around, exploring. Baby, that's what I am gonna do!

Everything is just too good to miss!

And replaying it over and over too!

lol of course i'm kidding, i'm just imitating someone i know, i got doom3 on the 3rd of august, and i invite him over so i can give him a little taste, and so we can plan a LAN-party to really break it in propah, and the guy tried to load one of my saved games, yeah i know

i was like wtf mate? and he said he just wanted to kill shit, so after ripping the control away from him, in a state of shock and dismay, i deleted my saved games, so he would "have" to start it from the beginning, poor baby i know. and he just ran past everything and anything that looked cool, trying to find stuff to shoot

basically he bypassed anything quality about doom3 just to rush into it's shitty gameplay... true story

i was severly unimpressed, so i ridicule him telling him that i've found a cheat to skip to the last level of HL2 when it comes out, hahaha what a looser,

honestly it took me about 30 minutes to pass the first checkpoint in doom3, just being in awe, because you know what? i learned my lesson with doom3, it has NO replayability at all, so when i go through HL2 for the first time, i'm gonna take more time than an asian trying to park his hyundai.

i play like im actually there all the time. sometimes when im in areas like hallways/public places (like the trainstation or tenaments) i walk because in real life you dont run everywhere, people would think youre crazy. i dont know, just how i like to put myself in the game.

But i DO run everywhere.... i mean what's the point in walking?

*DEAD SERIOUS*
