Would it be a bad time to buy an Xbox now?

Seeing that the new console from Microsoft will be released soon, would buying the Xbox be a bad choice?

Well, there are four games that I want: Otogi: Myth of Demons, Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors, Ninja Gaiden and Soul Calibur 2. I won't get them at the same time, but those are currently the games that I want.
Otogi 1 & 2 were the Xbox's sleeper hits.

Xbox will always be a useful console,.. if you mod it. Its a kickass multimedia server and console/arcade emulator.

Otherwise, forget it. Its old technology.

Halo was much better on the PC, just for the online play. And don't bombard me with the Halo 1 can be played on the xbox online junk, because the PC version had a lot more features added to the mutiplayer, so it's a better choice.

Get it and get Halo and Halo 2 while youre at it. Xbox 2 is coming next year IIRC, and its not worth getting for the amount of money it will cost. Wait for the price to drop and then get it. Unless you have enough money, Xbox 2 would be awesome. Launch title is Halo 2.5 (Halo 2 with better graphics) so, thats your choice.

Get an Xbox with Halo and Ninja Gaiden to begin with. (last i checked, didn't the Xbox come with Halo anyway?). That should keep you busy for a while

Halo 2.5 isn't just H2 with better graphics. It has extra features, new maps, better graphics, weapons and features of the game that didn't make it into the Xbox cut due to time and restrictions.

Don't forget Panzer Dragon Orta - a lovely arcade shooter that does the saturn titles proud

If you like footy games, and don't already have it on the PS2, get PES4. I enjoyed that more than any other game last year. Easily the best sports title around (and on Live too \o/)

Also, there's Jade Empire (not out yet) It looks absolutely fantastic , and a must for any RPG/Bioware fan worth their 20 sided dice.

One of my d20 is pretty purple and green, it tends to roll high too.
I have another set of greay die that tend to roll low too - great for Cthulu games.

I'm really into kick-ass sword fighting games. I just beat Halo for the PC.

Tickle your fancy? I personally do not feel any such sensation when playing Halo.
