WOW Closed With a BANG!

Hl2 has better value, even if it isn't valve that gives it but the mods.

But anyway, I didn't like it at the beginning but I played through the first very boring bit (thnx to warby's advice), and it was pretty enyojable, but I have to ask, what lvl is the beast Onyxia, how much hp does it have, how much dexterity or how much damage can it do at most in one strike, and is it stronger than a deamonlord sent on judgementday.

And what about what Septih said, how could it be that the deamonlord or infernal was a chicken, had a player succeded in turning it a chicken or was it a joke of blizzard. BTW do the GM's in the game have a form, I don't know cause i never chated or needed their help, but do these guys have their own characters that are like invincible or do they only help with chat.

When I first bought Planetside I just entered some random numbers in the credit card area then after 1 month I edited it when I finally got around to sorting out which credit card to use. They can't charge you until you past the 1 month mark so technically they shouldn't check for credit card validations. I am guessing they don't anyway.

I played more hours playing WOW in 2 days then I have playing HL2 and its mods in the god knows how long I have had it for. So imo WOWhas already been much better value than HL2 and I havn't even started playing it at retail yet.

havent touched HL2 since the first day I bought WoW

Well that maybe be so, but it also cost much more, I mean the first year of wow could cost you more than 230, while with hl2 you pay one time and you do eventually get a lot for it, IMO you get more your money's worth for hl2 in the end then for wow, considering all the mods coming our for it. It may keep you less ocupied than hl2, but we are talking value ofr money here.

Your saying that on a gaming forum. Ironic ?

How is it ironic? I'm talking about the people who play online games and think they are big tough guys for killing internet monsters. Similar people in CS think that since they have a lot of kills they can boss "lesser" players around.

BTW I don't think I'm some big shot because I killed some pixels or shot a terrorist model or two so I don't know where you got "Ironic" from.

But HL2 isn't neccersarily (sp) going to have mods that are as good as HL1 had so i'd still say WoW has better value for money - at least i know what i'm getting when i buy it and not waiting around for something i enjoy to be made, and made well at that!. Not to mention WoW is a billion times more rewarding than any free MP game that isn't an MMORPG or a game that saves you in a virtual world.

1 Year of WoW would be a hell of alot cheaper than if i was to go and buy what i used to buy (1 or 2 games per month).

Well... I don't know... I played WOW for about... 20hours in 2 days. So I am already ahead of HL2, lets say I play WOW about 40hours a week. Thats 160hours a month at £9 a month. You can't really compare them. But from 60/160hours a month gameplay, I am getting like 6/16 games a month. Thats pritty amazing.

I think the last time i checked i'd played my level 19 paladin for about 48 hours in a couple weeks (not bad considering i have just got into a relationship and would rather spend my time with me girl than a beta atm) so i'd still say i've gotten good value for money. Retail will be a breeze, i can play properly without the thought of my character getting deleted in the near future. :D

The last time dedalus said how long he'd played for was 8 days 12 hours or something and he was level 39/40 mage, so he's sure getting his money's worth . The game really is good value for money regardless of a monthly fee! :)

And you think after a month you'll still be playing @ 6 hours a day? WoW might be quite expansive, but it certainly won't last forever.

I played WoW for maybe on average maybe 6/8 hours every other day and I was already starting to get sick of it after a couple of weeks so if I can imaging if I started to play more than that over a prolonged period of time it could get very tiresome.

I'm not saying WoW isn't worth paying for a month or two but beyond that I'm not so sure and after you've cancelled your account the only way to start playing again is to let them bill you for another month. So you can't just pick it up and have a quick whirl if you feel like it.

yes ..really ..there's just sooooo much to do, you could literally have 20 characters made and not one is identical to the other.

seriously after my 3 months are up I may not play it for awhile cuz I spend too much time on it

You can't play a game the way it was mainly designed to be played for months, WoW or not...

You have to find things to do, not expect them to be handed to you on a plate. I played an MMORPG where i could cap in a week for 2 years and each character was very similar, just used a different type of gun, like heavy, rifles, psi, pistols etc... and i played it for 2 years and didn't really get bored of it because i could PvP when i wanted, how i wanted so i can see WoW having better PvP fights (even if has'nt got a fraction of the skill the last MMO i played took to PvP) because its popular.

The chracter customazation at the beginning of the game dissapointed me a little, i didn't think you had that much variations that would be really seen, I mean I thinl the putting different faces on character is useless the way it was doen in wow, cause in the game it is hard to notice, but it maybe that I was a little spoiled by City of heroes on that one.

Ooh and also, some were to me stupid, I mean like with the humans the balding guy, I mean why even put that option, nobody likes to play as a middleaged balding guy, and the undead did really look undead but not really cool, I mean who wants to play looking like that, they looked pathetic, weak, you like starved to death, and yeah I know thats the poinmt they are dead, but once agian who wants to play looking like that, they could have made em look cool, i think that is also a reason a lot of popele didn't play with the undead, but with the nightelves and dwarfes which looked pretty cool.

Undead is my favourite race, with Orc's following behind that. I'm gutted i can't play an Undead Shaman as well :(

No one really cares that much about these things, because if you start off with the ability to wear mail, you can pick up some really cool looking things my friend. Especially at lvl 40 and up :E

Human males look stupid in general, saw a Paladin that looked like Freddy Mercury who spent 2 years in the gym.

Human females on the other hand look hawt :naughty:

Coolest looking are of course the Tauren and Orc (especially Warriors with huge axes).

Hmm how come people find pixels attractive?

Well the worst people are the ones who try to look cool in mmorpgs to people they think are women. Like they see a woman fighting a monster that is too tough they run up and start fighting it and go "get out of here I'll take care of this!!" LMAO

Thats what i dont like about it, but i will still pay the $$ for the game.. i was a nightelf warrior at the start but i got bored of him so i made a tauren shaman... way more fun :D

geez..I'm glad I never do that. I do play as a female human warrior though, hope no one has ever done that for me, because that's a little scary.

As for value of WoW vs HL2..there's no comparison. I haven't touched Half-Life 2 since I bought World of Warcraft. The last time I played it was when I loaded it for about 15 minutes to show my cousin around Christmas time, and haven't looked at it ever since. I don't even visit the HL2 forum anymore

I've spent like 12 days playing World of Warcraft in about a month and a half...which is pretty excessive, I know, but it's just so much fun, and so rewarding.

I loooovvveeee my brown horsie which I was rewarded with at level 40! (well..I had to buy it, which cost a lot, but it was worth it, believe me)

Now I'm just going auction house crazy so I can make more cash to buy my skills and pay my friend back the 15g I owe him now. I'm just going to auction off nearly everything I find (within reason of course), morons will buy anything. It's funny...anyone 40 < should not be buying anything except for skills and really needed items, because buying a mount is so important, but yet so expensive (90g all together, unless you're a Paladin/Warlock)

Hmmm... I dunno about you but if I see anyone getting owned by something which is stronger than them then I always go help them. I must admit you do get people who attempt to flirt with females online, it always happens. I do like the socialise with females more but I don't go around blowing kisses and dancing with them, pritty much stalking them :O

I was playing and this person asked me to join 'em, i was level 12 and the other person was level 7, so we we're killing some beasts (needed xp and skinning them) then the other player takes on a level 12 kodo, the kodo is about 3/4 hp and she is almost dead. She stops fighting i was still fighting something else and she goes "I am a female you know"... :| well sorry for not rolling out the red carpet, so i ran off :p and joined a few other people

I'm buying the game tommorow, i hope anyway :upstare:

It is almost certain that 99% of WoW players are men... but yet there's nothing wrong with helping a young female character, even if they are half naked, fat, male pedophiles in real life. I mean if you think about it like that you won't enjoy WoW at all because you aren't immersed. When you are fighting alongside a sexy female night elf, who is weilding a long sword and unprotective armour- you are playing with a night elf... Just like when you slay the head of a foe, you have just slaughtered a wolf that was raging with energy, not just witnessed a pre-rendered death animation.

I always helped anyone I saw in trouble, and I was also constantly buffing peopel on the way to where I was going, you meet that way really nice people and the games suddenly becomes a lot better.

I hmade a video of the big bang, not much of a big bang but it shows doomguards and the massive infernal (lvl 500 boss).

I have nowhere to upload it though, I'll see if I can find a place if anyone is itnerested

You just don't understand roleplaying games at all do you?

The idea is to become immersed and become out of character, you're telling me you don't have an alter ego on the internet "Zeus" (funny real life name to have there dude).

O/T - My CE shipped today w00t :D should get it tommorow, i'm sure i payed for special postage. Edit/ Maybe not, only first class postage.

I remember playing my main character years ago in EQ1 and asking for money and I got like 12 people telling me no. I make a female half elf bard and ask for some equipment "from the nice big guys" out there LOL and guess what? I got an AMAZING set of equipment, 4k of plat, tons of expensive stuff I couldn't even use, and much more. Unbelivable how sad some people out there are.

BTW Alig, come on, there internet aliases and getting out of character but then there's just plain pathetic (giving out a TON of expensive stuff and risking your characters life when you see some female (supposably  ) that is in trouble.

Oh and then you have the elitist clan members who suck up to the guild "women" (again supposably) while talking smack to people they don't know IRL whenever they pose any kind of challenge or arguement to their "e-lady". "Ohhhh this big meanie stole my camping spot!, big strong Dejosen (made up MMORPG name) please come and rough him up by argueing with him over the internet and beating him in a video game duel and show him who's boss!!"

(people like them are part of the reason why why I don't play MMORPGS anymore)

Hmmm, I don't think its 99% male, I would say at least its 15% female. You don't understand how many females actually play these types of games. They really like them. Its not as big as the Sims to females, but they definatly like RPG's like Final Fantasy etc... I know loads of females who play Final Fantasy, I actually need to get my Fable back of Christine SHE STOLE IT!!!!
