wow!!!

"The expanion will add new player races, a new faction and a whole new continent for players to explore.

The expansion will be aimed largely at higher level players, and will involve a higher level cap, bigger and larger dungeons both inside and outside in Northrend and elsewhere, and many new items and quests. Blizzard is also expected to announce that the game's graphic engine has been further enhanced as planned to keep World of WarCraft in line with the latest technology.

After its debut at E3, World of Warcraft®: NorthrendT is expected to go into beta testing over the summer and be released in late 2005. "

People in the official forums arnet happy about this :p

They are saying blizzard should by spending monnies on getting the servers stable rather than producing a exp pack.

*sigh*...I wish I had WoW :p

really? ...I've been shut out of my server once in 4 months ..I dont know why people complain about long waits when they could have picked a less populated server ...the server I was on had one of the lowest populations when I first started, now it's about average and still no lock outs or downtime

YES! I got WoW from my cousin yesterday! He is going to give me a password for a month free! I can't wait to play.

/me tries to act excited

Woohoo!A wow expansion! :E

This makes me incredibly happy. I wonder what the new faction and races will be though. I was thinking maybe Arthas's undead faction but then that would be a faction for only undead. Maybe the blood elves will be a new race?

/me can hardly wait to explore Northrend.

BLIZZARD!!!!!!! I am too lazy to get it, but Blizzard said these are rumors, and unconfirmed by Blizzard.

Great, just in time for my damned pre-ordered copy to come.

well ...a source would be nice seeing as how the news of the expansion is on more than a few gaming sites

Un-nerf the bloody hunter
? The hunter hasn't really been nerfed. They do pretty well in PVP servers. Its the warriors that need to be un-nerfed.

A third faction would blow IMO, it is hard enough to get a group.

It has to be fake - Blizzard, at the moment, are running around like headless chickens just trying to keep Wow afloat - thousands getting disconnected, non-existant support, laggy crashing servers and bugs galores - they've no time for an expansion!

Even though an expansion would rock, they've got to much stuff on their hands already.

Oh, there won't be no 3rd faction ever!, period.

Tyren(Blizzard poster) said:
A 3rd faction is not in the plans. Not only would a 3rd faction require an incredibly large amount of new content, all current content would also have to be changed, added, updated, rebalanced.

While it would be a creative challenge, it opens up too many possibilities for error.

I've had only very rare issues with connectivity, I'm more than happy with all my play experiences, and with Blizzard's support. I can understand some of the complaints, but some are just internet hyperbolization in my opinion. Especially since it's so far off, a Northrend expansion would be awesome.
Hey Pendragon :).
and I can't believe how much people complain about WoW and its "problems". Christ even EQ2 has jumped on the bandwagon and is calling WoW "World of Waiting" in their new advertisements. I've waited less playing WoW then i have playing any other game, ever. Oh and does anyone know if Battlegrounds will be free?

You're one of the lucky ones; just be glad you're not on the servers that have been hit hard (and I mean hard).

How so?

I had good support, server was rarely down....
It was fun for the first 2 months, then it got boring, boom, lvl to 20 as a mage, wow! I got another fireball lvl, same thing, just more damage, ding again (forgot which lvl) Woot! I got Flamestrike lvl 2, I'm cooking on fire, (High LvL Mage) Ding, woot! i finally got my mount, time to go scorch those monsters again....
I will easily go back, if there was more spells, instead of just lvl up on a spell, i swear, flamestrike is like an AoE fireball with more casting time.

Man am I ever glad that was fake. I've been playing for three months now and I've got a 52 Warrior and a 42 Rogue...I've got a lot more to do, I don't need more continents/classes/races to worry about.

Not to mention the terrible server support....I couldn't imagine another continent x however many different server realms there are. They have a hard enough time maining two on each server. Plus all those extra instances...

So...you use a firespell against a mob with mega fire resistance?

Tell me a game that has the perfect balance between guns where there isn't a best gun? or for most things?

You make the game sound boring. It isn't... you're boring. Try PvP, lets see how long you last just using a fireball and nothing but.

What are you talking about? It's the same rumour/link being posted everytime.

Find a credible source and I'll believe you.

You don't have even to look at the links being posted to know it's not possible. Blizzard has way too much on their plate as it is. Unless they have about 10,000 extra employees stored off on some secluded island working on this major project, it's not possible.

its a fact that Bliz didnt denie it
and the rumour said it they will anounce it at the E3 :bounce:
its has to be true :bounce:

I admit that I do not know what exactly Blizzard is capable of, but really, if you actually play World of Warcraft (speaking strictly from a North American viewpoint, the servers in Europe could be different, maybe more reliable due to Blizzard wanting to establish fan base there first since they've already got a good grasp of American fans) you would know Blizzard is having enough trouble keeping up to the demand of the way the game is currently setup.

I'd say about once every day at least there is a server restart on the realm I play on, not to mention random lag problems, which they are addressing today with EXTENDED scheduled maintence. I will not be able to play on my server until 6:00 pm tonight. Other servers were supposed to come back up at 3:00pm Atlantic Time (-4 GMT), but they're still not up yet.

Trust me, another continent, plus other instances is just something they are NOT prepared for.

Hopefully I will not be proved wrong at E3.

The resources related to developing, releasing, and maintaining a new continent though are probably quite different from the resources required to maintain server stability. Heck a new continent could make some servers more stable since it would help spread people out.

That's a very good point, I never thought of that. Still, I hope it's a rumour.
