Yes he does. Anyone who went through the 6 preloading phases has the entire hl2 game on their computer, source engine core and all. The only thing I believe that is missing is the single client.dll.

If you think Preload 6 was the final one... your wrong.
Localized files arent loaded yet.

Perloading isnt done.
 
As far as I know, localised files are for languages that aren't English.

Which means I think all of the pre-loads are done if you live in the US, UK or other English speaking countries.

I have the Silver Steam package and can't wait to put my money to use. Only client.dll stands between me and my HL2!

Heh, that reminds me.
My dad has a trap set up for squirrels outside to keep them from getting in the house. He captures them then releases them somewhere far away from the house.

Except there was a 3 day period whre he forgot to check the cage. Lo and behold he finds a squirrel that had starved to death. Outside the cage? oak tree acorns.

I'm sure that if Valve were allowed, they would let you play it now.

There's not long to wait now.
 
It would be interesting to learn how much Valve has made off of Steam purchases alone thus far. That must tick off Vivendi a bit though, since they get jack squat from Steam sales.

No you don't. THere are still files missing like the client.dll and .exe
 
I've checked the Half Life 2 base content .gcf and the client.dll and server.dll and the .exe are all there. I believe we have all of the game: textures, models, sounds, maps, and the engine files.
