i got that too, then i turned off dualview (i had 2 monitors running) and now it doesnt give me that error (but i still cant play cuz of some other stupif crap)

there is something very wrong with this game and valve for putting it out so unfinished

1 GIG DDR
X800 XT
Soundblaster Audigy 2
7.1 Surround sound speakers
Pair 160Gb SATA
17 inch TFT

It only has 1 problem ... It does not play Half Life 2 ... ggrrr... the onyl reason it came into excistance to do

I've been looking around, a lot of people seem to have it. Valve should look it up and give some tip

Hmm I had that error once... I'd just restarted after installing the newest video card drivers, but something messed up and they didn't actually install or something (I'm assuming, everything was messed up). I reinstalled them and problem solved... I don't know whether this will help anyone or not... just thought I'd mention it, lol
