Are you implying that i fled? Never. I said in my second to last post that I would be hitting the hay soon and this will continue “tomorrow” or after my “coming ban”. I was way too tired to handle things last night, so this is my new self, freshly evolved out of the bed about 11 hours ago.

And actually all human emotion makes sense. Apart from some phobias, and emotions deriving from the mentally ill. That's true, and if you want to test me, try me.

EG. The human emotion of happiness. We feel happy when an external stimulus has a positive effect on us. The brain makes us feel happy so we'll do it again. After a while we'll get bored if the repeated action gains little or no additional positive effects.

And of course we jumped on the offensive, I believe you first post mentioned covering gays in vodka and burning them. Now you have established that there is no logic in that you have fulfilled the criteria for being mentally ill.

Now try and prove to me that you're not mentally ill, because I have enough evidence to potentially get you seen by a psyciatrist (I won't though, don't worry).

Human emotion does not make sense at the universe factual level, which is how im looking at my own view here. I’m not talking human logic, I’m talking factual logic.

Nearly everything everyone does is not in essence, logical. I try to take action on true logic myself, but I’m admitting that this is one case where I can’t find a logical reason, and there is no reason for you to bash me because I am admitting this. Maybe if the majority of all my actions and thoughts were not logical, then I could be “mentally ill”, but that’s not the case.

Now, I could under-analyze the situation and merely say that gays are harmful to society, but upon further look, both you and I find that not true, cause its not a logical conclusion. Gays are gays, and they do no harm to society and impair no one. My stance towards homosexuals is just a feeling that I can’t explain at this time, nothing more…because of that, and since I use my logical self to control my emotional self, I will by no means be taking action towards it.

So let me ask you this agian.

Now, although the thread called for opinions, which I undoubtedly gave, I still felt the need to say “my opinion”, in an attempt to reemphasize that this opinion belonged to just me and that I wasn’t trying to enforce it on anyone.

Let’s examine the post more:

Look at: “I say we douse them in vodka and toss in a match.” –this is not a realistic situation! Vodka and matches? ‘please’…its like something from a movie. Had I said we should toss them all into a cage with hungry pit-bulls and watch them be shredded…then I would be being insanely offensive…and a comparison to Nazis would be appropriate. It’s still possible that could be taken highly offensively if my choice of words wasn’t analyzed adequately, so lets move onto:

“Or just launch them into the sun.”

Yep, we just launch things into the sun all the time. Come on! This is a comedic situation clearly now. If I was so grim and heart-bound to destroy all homosexuals, I would never throw such a joke in. I said this joke to essentially convey that I wasn’t serious.

I’m not saying I agree to homosexuality now; I still disagree with that whole line of…work. When I said what I did in my original post, it was to signify my level of contempt on the homosexuals, not the action I planned on taking…and again, I threw in the veiled comedy so it wouldn’t be taken as a solemn action…which to my disadvantage didn’t work.

I’m sorry that it was taken so seriously and offensively.

Hmm, that's an interesting statement. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but it just made me think.

Is adoption really a more complicated issue? You say we should accept gays before getting into adoption, but in fact society is doing exactly the opposite. I would actually tend to agree that adoption is a more important issue than marriage. We should certainly always put children first.

and that is my concern here.
i feel that now, more than ever there is more pressure on kids to do well, grow up and have good jobs...now having talked to friends who had to put up with derogatory(sp?) remarks through school.. i believe that we would be complicating the situation and exposing kids to such comments and negative attitudes which by the way is still a big issue in some parts of the world.

i do understand ur point about gay couples being able to adopt children right now but not have the choice to get married.. sounds very stupid if u ask me.. but yeah.. there are inexplicable things in life :|

Well... this went from thought-provoking, to annoying, to refreshing, quickly back to annoying, and then to comical.

I'm all for gay marriage, BTW. I don't see the point of trying to stop it, and the only people who it seems to make unhappy are the ones who are against it for various obscure reasons that always seems to collapse under inspection.

Now, I wonder if I should start a thread on the possibility of interspecies marriages in the future on the proviso that we've, by then, met other creatures that are sufficiently like ourselves (aliens, genetic whatsits, robots, whatever) to make such things workable... or would that cause the forums to combust :naughty:?
