Your weapons

After HL2 in which at the very end you're in proximity to things that could, quote,"..even destroy you in ways that are essentially impossible.." you end up buried in under boulders with the Gravity Gun a few feet away. In light of that I'm doubting that a small train crash is going to make you lose you grip on your weapons and even if you did they'd probably only be scattered a few feet away from you. Also I believe in a trailer you're shown (with a shotgun) on that bridge that like dissintegrates from the Citadel's shockwave and Alyx clings to wreckage of it. This said I sure hope Valve doesn't do the residue process thing early on.
