I bought this game a while ago, and I have to say, I'm suprised by how well the touch controls work. Doing anything you normally do in a Zelda game is easily emulated using the touch screen. It's almost more intuitive than a normal controller.

The most interesting thing with this game is the puzzles. I'm not far into the game, but they utilize the DS hardware in an interesting way. In one puzzle, I was presented with a sea chart map, only upside-down, with a symbol on it. I was told to press the symbol onto my own copy of the map. This actually involved me bringing up the matching sea-chart map on the second screen, then closing the DS, pressing the two "maps" together.

If anybody has any more praise/scorn for this game, please share.

It's on my have to get list. How has the sailing been? That was my gripe with Wind Waker.

I like it. The note scribbling thing is awesome.

is it the same as every other zelda game like every other zelda game is?

Can't wait for this gem. It has replaced Metroid on my "to get" list.

I plan to get it. I'm glad the people who have played it seem to like it. BTW, how do you download a DS game? Furthermore, how do you play a touch screen based game on a PC?

You download games onto sd cards and play them on your DS. My mate bought all the equipment you need for about 100 quid and his card stores around 100 games. Very naughty - but they run perfectly, you can save/load, no need to swap carts, and every game is available to download within minutes of being launched.

I don't condone this sort of thing at all - apart from being illegal it devalues the experience - but it is pretty awesome switching on his DS and being presented with a huge list of titles to choose from.

Got it yesterday and it is a great game like everyone has said. The controls really are spectacular, esp. the fighting. Its worlds better than the old d-pad and buttons. I m not very far into it yet, but its pretty, engaging, intuitive, and fun. Its a must-have for DS owners imho.

Yup, that is what my NinjaDS is for (ScummVM works like a charm too).

Wow, I feel behind the times. If it's gaming related and I don't see it here, I don't see it. I wish there was more time in a day.

That sounds really cool :D

I haven't gotten a new DS game in a long time. Thanks for posting this thread, I wasn't aware of this game.

That's awful. I spend 30 quid on a game and consider myself lucky if I get it for 20. To spend 0 quid on a game and consider myself lucky if I don't get caught is not, IMO, right.

NB I wasn't having a go at you, just the idea of it.

I agree - having also spent alot of money on DS games - but would be lying to say I wasn't tempted everytime he came round with his DS. Must . be . strong.

Seriously, the controls in this game are brilliant. Once you try tracing a path for the boomerang, you will wonder how you ever did it before. I am loving it so far.
