Blimey. Funny as usual, but it takes a seriously jaded gamer to slate something as lovely as Phantom Hourglass. That's not the fanboy in me speaking, it's just a lovely game. He also does the Nintendo franchises quite a diservice by suggesting they're the same games with new levels. Fair enough, that's more the case with Phantom Hourglass than most (it is a follow on game after all), but certainly no more so than, say, EP. 1 & 2.

I look forward to his Galaxy review. Will it be the game to melt his cynical, 'I can remember when pc games were great', heart?

It's odd that he goes as far as mentioning Half-Life in this review, and suggesting that Valve wouldn't get away with giving us a single new gun and bugger all else. Whilst HL certainly does move things forward from itself, if there's one thing you can say about the series, it's that the weapons haven't really changed... ever
