All of you need to chill out and stop taking everything so personally.
People are allowed to dislike ZM; people are allowed to like it. People are allowed to state their opinions, but people are not allowed to start calling each other names.

For a bunch of well respected members, I really have to say your attitudes are really quite rotten.
I don't know if it's just because my name is Vegeta, and you guys feel the need to insult me in any way you can, or if it's just in your nature, but it's terrible.

I hate to break my golden 4,000 posts, but this is an adequate excuse.
1. Crispy, you are not the god of PR, nor is PR all that relevant in the world of mod development. People attacked you because you lecture them with your dumb crap, and I believe you fully deserved it. I don't know your relation to DaveL or whoever, but you were being annoying nonetheless.
2. polyguns, I can't believe you're still friggin' allowed to post here. Nothing you have ever said and ever will say with mean anything to anyone. You remark on personal vendettas only and your posts are sometimes less readable than a monkey pooping on a keyboard. I would love it very much if you were banned. You make this section of this website so much more horrible with your ludicris bullshit.
3. Pi, take some constructive critism. Whether or not you hate Veggie, the texture on that wall is repeated so many times in a row it looks awful. It is a simple fix, and I remember in HL1 concrete textures there were several of the same wall, but different decals and orders of texture and stuff, to choose from so that mirror effect did not happen. It happens in that screenshot. It looks bad, and not just to Veggie and me. So whether or not you want to accept that is fine, but you don't have to call him a dufus for pointing out what a bunch of people have already said.
On a second note, the example you gave from HL2 seems to be something that the player cannot see. Perhaps I'm wrong, but if you look down the canal, you can see that the sky cuts off, thus giving me the impression that you noclipped to the position. Its also an unattainable wall-- its so far away from the player, you cannot walk up to it and up and down it. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems as if that is why the repeated texture is allowed-- both because you cannot see it up close and you cannot walk up and down it.
4. Veggie, I don't believe Pi not wanting somebody to screw with his map is arrogant in any way, and I believe that anybody would be pissed at you for calling them arrogant. I would.

Pi normaly bans peeps for calling people less then a dufus. and whoever said it i never made any bad remarks about hl2.net or anyone. i praised ZM, just kinda map shots are bleh, but its a good thing cause it will prolly run on my piece of crap dell laptop
oh and Erestheux, i don't even know who you are. who are you? 4001 posts though, figure i would recognize teh name
and its not arrogant to say no one can mess with your map. I hate doing only texture work on someone elses model, or someone wanting to edit my models, simply cause writing credits on the demo reel is too much work and too distracting. I would prefer to have everything on my demo or website be 100% mine so's that no questions come up about who did what. I dunno if pi meant it that way though.

You're the guys who always want to try and start fights with me. And you always do. Your point there was valid indeed, but that was before Yuri explained to me what Pi meant by his remark, so I apologised. I don't see what's wrong here.
And you say I take offense when people shoot me down? First of all, I never took offense, if you think I still get angry at you guys after all these months, you are mistaken. If anything, you are the ones who take offense everytime I make a post, in anything. I made one post in here, that wasn't really hurtful at all, besides the arrogant thing which I apologised for, and you guys went on a spree attacking my post and me personally in any way you could. That looks a bit crazier than me pointing out how ridiculous you guys look when you explode at me all the time.

But here's the thing, I don't bait you Vegeta - I just pick up on the annoying bits in your posts, and I respond. And it goes from there. Perhaps I should learn to keep it to myself - but people can't expect the forum to be nicey nice. Just because one person likes something/someone, doesn't mean everyone else has to buck up and do the same.
It's a forum and we moderators enforce the rules. But we've opinions too. The job doesn't come with respect.
