I used to use the arrow keys myself, when I first started playing pc games. I decided to switch to WASD(or WSAD) when I found myself continuously moving my hands to take up positions to allow myself to crouch jump and stuff in HL deathmatch. I'd move my right hand from the mouse to the arrow...
It's been a while since I watched any of the HL2 trailers, so I'm just wondering is the machinegun/grenade launcher from HL1 coming back in HL2? I only recall seeing one machinegun in the videos, which had a scope. Sort of looked like the OICW machine gun from Far Cry.
I really couldn't give a crap about info regarding the release date. Don't get me wrong I can't wait for the game to come out, it's just that over the years I've grown accustomed to dealing with any info regarding release dates in a certain way(i.e. ignore them and don't get excited until I hear...
How can you say that? Wouldn't it be better to play those same mods first before passing judgement on them? What if the next "counter-strike" was one of those mods that left for another engine?
I had no problems with farcry whatsoever. But I guess I was one of the lucky ones. The only oddities I came across were one or two graphical glitches. My impressions were that, it was a surprisingly polished game. Having said that I didn't encounter any bugs whilst playing, just one of those...
Personally I don't mind whether gibbing is in or not. If it is in then I think cool, if it's not then I won't cry over it. Though I agree that I prefer the rag-doll effect, seems alot more realistic and you hardly ever get situations where someones body is going through a wall or floating on top...
I almost forgot about that. I loved going back to some of the more spectacular set pieces in the game after I'd finished it and trying different things. Something which the checkpoint saves allow
Yes but on the one hand you have TrinityXero saying oh man you can't rip chunks off people in Far Cry which is lame. But if you can't do it in HL2 it's all fine and dandy according to you.
I think the best way would be to have both types of saves in the options menu. That way you can toggle either of them on/off, so you can have Far Cry style checkpoint saves and quicksaving enabled or either one of them. That way I don't think there would be many complaints about the saving...
It should be the same the other way around as well. To the people in this thread that say, yeah Far Cry is ok, but HL2 will be better ...blah...blah..
Everything is just pure speculation. You can't really make an apples to apples comparison.
Why not wait until you've played through HL2...
You'd think that ATI would improve their image quality with their next gen card. As it stands nvidia and ati are virtually equal imo in terms of image quality.
Have to agree with Dougy. I'm looking forward to Rome: Total War more than Half Life 2. It's my most wanted PC game.
1.Rome: Total War
2.Half Life2
3.Pikmin2
4.Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
Also to stay on topic, no it won't revolutionize my life. Like others have said it is after all just a...
Thought I'd just quote what I thought was an interesting post(he says he's naked teeheehee) by one of the writers of PCZone. Actually I believe it's the editor, he goes by the name Dave_PCZ
My thought is that it's more hype by the zone guys about the upcoming issue. They'll probably say...
As I understand it the R420 won't be fully compliant with Shader Model 3.0
It implements VS3.0 but doesn't implement PS3.0
However from what I understand VS3.0 is used for new graphics techniques or somesuch, while PS3.0 is all about branch prediction, flow control etc(more efficient shader...
Exactly. Everything up until now is pure speculation. The best thing to do is to wait 2 weeks or so until the benchies come out for the X800pro. I believe it will be officially announced on the 5th of May. Compare the performance and features of the Graphics cards.
Then just buy whatever...
