the same could be done with smoothshading and 2000 less polies so don't say you want to screw smoothinggroups

you shoud be "optimizing" while you are modeling, not afterwards i mean what's the use of a 50 sided barrel if you're gonna remove it anyway

i'm sorry to say, but that's ALOT of wasted polies especialy the barrel and the grip

just b/c it's HL2 doesn't mean you have to waste polies

editable patch?? wtf the true polycount is editable mesh, but it show the true pc in the renders screen anyway

that's just the highpoly versions of the model, not the lowpoly with normal maps

some inaccuracies and wasted polies, but overall nice model

i guess you've wasted alot of polies make a wireframe render, so we can at least see where they went also the RIS parts and holes take up lots of polies most of the time, so try removing those =| it looks like the barrel has too much detail while the grip looks like a block...

if you look closely at a picture of the USP you'll notice that it has one bump on the inside of the trigger guard and 2 behind that on the outside

what part of the trigger guard?

i KNOW it's inaccurate in lotsa ways 6000 polies is alot for that kinda detail tho try looking at some more refpics www.hkpro.com
