I've been going out of My way to avoid having to "upgrade" to XP, but I am also under the impression that XSI is going to be the best way to go for HL2. Looks Like I'm gonna have to give in. Damn you Bill Gates!! I'd like to be locked in a soundproof room with that pencil neck for 30 minutes...
Dang, and I thought I was "old school" for using Milkshape as much as I do.
Looks like I'll get serious and start entering co-ordinate position numbers manualy in notepad. Thanks, now I see the light :)
Anyhow, about XSI EXP, I have found the winXP version but I didnt notice any versions...
Anytime I'm looking to learn a new procedure or a new program I usualy check to see if there are some downloadable tutorials. When I find sites that have sections dedicated to tuts I apreciate it VERY VERY much! Your effort will be greatly apreciated.
That G36 looks real good. Very impressive. I have only one suggestion, its minor and most gamers wont notice it.
The rounds in your magazine arent staggered right. they are spaced way too far apart verticaly. also you need to leave a little bit of room for the follower and spring at the bottom...
Invasion Earth: 1987 will use alot of AI characters. I'm planning the enemys to all be AI and you'll usualy be commanding a squad of soldiers. Sometimes there will also be a squad or two of friendly forcesin the same battle with their own objectives.
I too realy like commanding NPC's. I...
I cant help but notice that in the second pic the shadows all go the same direction. This may help confirm the speculation that the pics with the shadows going different directions was probably an earlier build.
I think you ARE seeing texture changes here, but I believe theres also a geometry change going on at the same time. I think the reason you arent seeing things poping up all over the place is that in most cases they did alot better job on the LOD distance setting and matching goemetry fome one...
Are you saying its even more sensitive than an M16 ? If it is ,then that in itself is quite an acomplishment.
I always felt sorry for the left handed guys while firing M16's(that snap in deflector isnt totaly effective) and figured it would be a new sort of hell for a leftie to have to fire a...
Whats youre polycount on the van? It looks good, it apears to be a sort of generic mix of a few differnet but similar Vans.
One thing that would be cool is if you added a passthrough door into the front, or at least a window so that people riding in the back could see whats coming up...
Dude, she may be no super model, but she definatly plesent to look at. These guys baggin on Her probably dont have girlfriends, theyre gay and jealous of her good looks, theyre virgins that havent figured out yet what REALY makes a Girl fun in the sack, or they just aint got no good taste...
As I watched these it becomes clear that they are infact LOD level changes for sure. in the first one you can see the line where the seam of 2 polys flips and moves. inanother you can see the objects eng grow and get more detailed.
Question is now, is the LOD geometry generated by the engine...
I was walking by the TV the other night and heard DIO doing "Rainbow in the Dark" I had to stop and watch of course. Anyhow during the video I seen those horses up on the poles just like in the square in the demo. And while I watched the rest of it I couldnt help but think" This city must have...
SP for sure. Then spend most all My time modding. I'll probably do a little bit of Multi later on, but Making mods will be My primary intrest in HL2.
If theres good co-op play I'll be alot more likely to do that than just regular MP.
The Punisher
Prices always drop with this stuff. If you dont already do so you should monitor sharkyextreme.com and anandtech.com. On both os these sites (as well as some other similar sites) you can see the price of all the similar hardware in a single table which also shows how much its changed from last...
Have you ever played "Interstate '76"? God I loved that game! I even bought a copy of I76 gold edition off ebay a couple months ago just to play it again on a more modern system.
Anyhow, something "LIKE" I76 would be cool, but keep in mind that something "LIKE" Interstate '82 would SUCK...
I'm currently using a few different programs, depending on what task I'm doing. I've been using 3DS Max v4 for real high polycount stuff that I've been trying to optimize the polycounts down to a game friendly level with minimal distortion (usualy still requires alot of manual vertex work...
