I play Morrowwind and don't notice a damn bit of visual difference when FSAA is turned on. All it does is slow down the game very noticeably.
FSAA is the most useless video feature ever made. I'm gonna shoot the next idiot I hear bitching about the lack of FSAA.
You can download a warez copy of HL2 but half the features will be missing just like every other warez game (missing sound, music, speech, cutscenes, etc).
I don't see why anyone would put up warez much less an ISO. The bandwidth to provide people with free games costs an arm and a leg...
Valve has done tons and tons of interviews recently about Half-Life 2. There have been many previews and videos released by Valve.
You must be a complete moron to think Valve has been quiet about the game.
I can't stand BF1942.
Plays too much like Tribes (a game that sucks in every way imaginable) but with a WW2 setting instead of a sci-fi setting. And its made by EA, one of the worst companies in the industry.
Console games can crash and burn but not nearly as much as PC games. Hopefully there will be less probems and headaches when I get Windows XP and a bigger hard drive to run it..
Actually, Windows programs tend to be riddled with problems and bugs, both minor and major. Which is a major weakness of the PC platform when running the more complex stuff such as 3D games. I like online games which I can't get with consoles which are a more stable platform.
At the same...
It finally uninstalled with unwise.exe. I always uninstall with the control panel so its odd that it wouldn't uninstall that way.
Stupid thing drove me nuts trying to get off my system.
If you have to ASK someone how to uninstall a Windows program then that program is screwed up.
And yes, Steam is listed in control panel but when you click to uninstall it, it gives you a weird error message, the whle thing disappears from the add-remove programs list, and Steam is still...
Damn this Steam won't let me uninstall it!! Or am I missing something??
Worse, there is no option in settings to disable the "start with windows" option!! This is worse than spyware! Who is the idiot who wrote this program?? I can't believe this shit is made by Valve.
Anyone know how to...
I wouldn't know about the smokeless variety I just draw from my own experience with guns, guns that have all produced noticeable smoke that you see and smell. You notice it even more when you're standing by someone (such as a friend) and watch them fire their weapon at a target. The smell is...
I would imagine any type of automatic machine gun big and small has very noticeable gunsmoke. A small single shot weapon won't produce much smoke but the gunpowder released by many bullets in a fully automtic weapon that is spitting out many slugs at a time tends to produce a good deal of smoke...
Smoke effects in games has been around for many years. So its not hard to implement because the technology is there already. Should be very easy to do.
For example you have the smoke trail effects in Unreal Torunament when you fire the rocket launcher. It looks awesome by the way. Medal of...
The way gunsmoke is placed in D3 looks very good and it doesn't get in your way because the way they did it the smoke is discharged from the side of the gun and away from the player's face.
Also I don't think smoke has much effect on framerate. In CS for HL1 the smoke grenades produce large...
I'd hate to nitpick, but I think this deserves some attention.
That is, the lack of gunsmoke in the E3 videos when you fire your weapon. When you fire a real gun you always get a lot of gunsmoke, obviously. So I don't understand why a game like HL2 with so much realism is missing this...
I think its a bad sign when they give you several trailers of a game and none of them present any gameplay.
All the trailers do is show off the scenery. That tells me the game has no gameplay worth showing off, only pretty but static scenery.
I think iD is done with D3. So probably the first reason is true, that most computers are too slow to run it, if you think about it.
The Doom 3 levels have relatively simple design and architecture. Not much real-world detail and objects within the D3 levels. Just high-res textures make it...
