You can Open the GCF files, you just can't take anything out of them.

The GCFs are encrypted with a 128bit-32Char Alphanumeric Combination, it is very unlikely someone could crack it before it is released unless they had a super computer or something.

They are going to do what they did with EP1, release a bit at a time. Not all the portal files are in there, there are a lot of empty folders.

The GCF file seems to have some EP1 file, models and textures.
