"Im sorry, you can call me all the names you want, but there are alot more cheaters in CS than you give credit for."
I hadn't planned on calling anyone any names. I was just suggesting people (maybe yourself included crabcakes) might want to try the game in it's current state and not base...
The problem a lot of people have with cs is the immature players which can be avoided by finding a decent server to play on and a decent group of people to play with.
As for the cheats there are far far less than people think. At every level of CS people are always calling cheat and I hate it...
Have you cosidered getting a Brevel? I hear they'll toast everything really well.

Ok this thread has split in two directions, one saying that cs2 will be on later and later releases and the other saying it will be running on earlier engines. From this I can only deduce that it will actually run on the pong engine which will be the basis of Half-life 946.
Personally i think the physics in this next generation of games won't become boring, it will become expected. It will be the norm. The bar will be raised and all games will have to keep up. Over time games where dead bodies hover over staircases balanced only on their toes will be ridiculed.
Does anyone remember bionic commando? It was an old 2d platformer where you had a gun in one hand and the other arm was an extendable grappling hook which could by used to reach out and grab points on te level which then allowed you two swing or climb up by shortening the arm.
I'd love a game...
Valve have said they are distributing knowledge and/or tools to help people to transfer hl1 content to source. It's mainly things like maps and content though I think they have referred to. As for how much work would be involved in coding weapons and round structures etc you'd have to ask somone...
"Since the metal beam in traptown keep swinging, i can tell there's not friction in the physics of hl2."
Voodoo, how do you know it keeps swinging? in the video you see it for what? 4 maybe 5 swings? You'd need to sit and watch it for about a minute at least to make any sort of judgment on...
"i think in the world of hl2, there will be no friction, the metal beam will never stop to swing."
It's a pendulum, there is very little friction involved other than air resistance. Pendula (correct plural of pendulum anyone?) keep swinging for a long, long time and the time of each swing is...
"All release dates are tuesdays. That's just how it works. The reasons for it are logistical (y'know...shipping...setting up displays...making sure all stores get it out on shelves at the same time.) "
Maybe in the US but in the UK games are Friday's and movies and music are Monday's. Always...
Feel free to ignore this post, I'm bored.
I wish I'd been there when they invented the imperial system.
A: yeah how many pounds would make sense in a stone? 10? 5?
B: nah 16 will do.
A: Ok so 16 ounces in a pound aswell then?
B: nah 14.
A: Ok so pence in a pound?
B: Two hundred and...
Oh yeah and there is more than one type of beer. Lager and bitter and ale and stout. Not just beer and guiness as it appears to be in many other countries.
"Also, Connexion is the British way of spelling "Connection". It's a cooler way because it has an x."
Nah connexion is a portugese and spanish language childrens science program broadcast in south america by the discovery channel (in both languages before anyone mocks me).
"Feath does not...
"What I do find funny is that basically only the Yanks and the Brits (oh, and the Burmese) still insist on using the Imperial measures system (in their own quaint varieties) while the rest of the world went metric in the last century."
Us brits are meant to use the metric system, we went...
With you all the way on that lot Logic apart from sport. Football (I'm English) is the nearest thing I have to a real religion. It mkes me happy, it gives me a release on a weekend and I just spectate on account of a useless knee.
We're all flawed but everyone in the world likes to say they...
The one thing I have learned from time in betas and on forums over the last 4 or 5 years is that retail outlets for computer games know absolutely nothing and they make up dates to try to persuade grandmothers to part with their money as a prepaid birthday gift for their equally clueless 6 year...
You appear to have confused posh southern english people and our royal family (who incidentally are german) with real englishmen and women.
At least we don't have to invent our own sports to be world champions of.......
