I haven't heard of it before so I'm not sure, I've been out of the loop for a while so if it is new I don't know how new. I would bet that it's safer to buy there than from Ebay though. :D
If the PSU died, which it sounds like, there's not really a quick fix, it would have to be replaced I guess. But if a part in your PC died while it's still under guarantee don't they have to replace it for you free of charge?
No it wouldn't damage the card. What would happen pretty much is if you tried to play a game the game would crash or something because that's when the card really needs the power. I would get the Tagan power supply you linked. Then I would recommend getting the XFX 6600GT from Ebuyer unless you...
The 6800 has 12 pipes. The 6800le only has 8. So I doubt you could unlock 16 pipes from a 6800le. If you want to spend a little more and get a 6800 and try it you can, but last time I checked the rate of success on the cards was low.
It's still better to get two sticks of 512mb instead of one stick of 1gb because the 512mb sticks generally have faster timings.
BF2 Demo Update:
I'm running the demo at 1024x768 with high settings on, except textures and lighting quality are both on medium, but everything else is on high...
You said that it has been a while since you last played it. If I read correctly 2 or 3 months.I don't think that upgrading HL2 caused the error, though it is possible. I think that your 9800 pro is overheating or broken, because those look like artifacts that are caused by the card. Try updating...
It is DDR RAM he has, DDR SD RAM is just the long way of saying it. ;)
And the specs on the PDF file do mention that it has an AGP slot. He's all clear. :D
No problem. And seeing as you'll have a better processor and better video card than me, you should be able to run the demo just as well, probably a little better. I'm gonna see later how high I can turn up the settings.
Yes you definitely need to upgrade the ram and video card. You cpu is fine for now, I got the BF2 demo and I'm running 1024x768 on medium quality. It's running very very smoothly. I can probably turn some more settings up I think, because I haven't had any slowups at all and while I didn't use...
No formatting is not bad for your computer. In fact it's good if you have a lot of junk on it and want to start fresh. Who's telling you that these things are bad?
I've been out of the loop for a while (before ATi came out with the new versions of the X800 like the XL and the X850 series) and I just wanted to know what is known about the next-gen cards, the G70 and the R520. I've seen some specs and stuff from googling but I wanted to ask everyone here...
No I said high quality enables 8x AF (Anisiotropic Filtering) not AA (Anti-aliasing). I don't even need the AA though because I can't pick up and jagged edges at all, 1024x768 with no AA seems to be enough in this game for me.
Mine was originally a Dell Dimension 2350 that I bought but I did so much upgrading once there were some games I wanted to play with good graphics I might as well have built it myself it's come so far. And I've learned a ton about computers in the process. Here's what the original specs of the...
