The song is on GameTrailers, here. I must be nuts, but this is like the fourth time in a row I've listened to it.

I was looking forward to some puzzle mayhem, but I had no idea Portal would be so cool. I'm a fan for life.
You can. You rig will take a big hit from shadows and volumetric lighting. Pop those down to low (don't worry, still looks great on low) and your fps will rise considerably.

We're all getting crappy framerates on High settings, it's pretty clear that this game was meant to be played on lower settings on current-gen machines, and higher settings on the next wave of procs and vid cards. Personally, I prefer that, as there's something to look forward to in replaying...
Just finished the demo, pretty impressive. Definitely convinced me to run out and buy the full version the morning it's released. Of course, after playing and loving the MP beta a few months ago, the graphics are still amazing but it's not like playing a game you've never seen. Kinda how HL2 was...
I really enjoy scary games, but for me, I have to want to be scared. If I play in a well-lit room during the day, and other people are around, nothing seems to be scary. However, I'm playing FEAR in the dark on purpose, in a quiet room by myself. I plugged in my expensive Sennheisers (lots of...
The AI is awesome, I had to come and post after my last battle. After dying a few times (playing on the hardest setting) on one part, I approached the situation in a similar fashion, but this time threw a grenade between two enemies. The enemy to the right of the grenade purposely dove headlong...
Man, I've been waiting for a new Sam & Max for a long time. Like chu said, "if they make a game it better not be 3D, that would kill it for me." It'd be great if they designed the sequel to work like the first, still a 2D adventure/puzzle game but with really nice 2D sprites and/or...
The Combine wear some kind of armor that monitors their heartbeat. Upon their death, the high-pitched ping that you hear would be their heartbeat stopping. It's a good guess anyway, right?
Say no now, but let them play it in a few years. 13 is really too young for a game like HL2, no matter what their maturity level. They'll probably be temporarily disappointed, but it'll make for a more well-balanced, intelligent kid as they develop. There will be expansion packs and HL3 for them...
Other time that really got me was when you first find the poison headcrabs. There's a creepy spider-like sound and then two of those suckers jump out of the corner of the room. I have a minor fear of spiders, but when those two-foot mofos jump right at you it's hard not to be repulsed.
The...
Yeah man, those guys gave me a few good scares. One when it was really dark, and the first time you see 'em when you hear the creepy spider sound and the two of them leap out of the corner of the room. Classic, I love it.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I looked at it just about the opposite. I suppose the setting you played it on probably had to do something with it, but I've had to play many of the battles (on Hard) again and again and again just to get past them, which is great fun. If you thought it was...
Haha in that room on the roof (with a door) in Ravenholm, I was/am playing on Hard so the quick zombies are damned hard to kill. Knowing that, I tried to avoid them and blocked the door shut from the inside. It was dark and I was playing alone, so when they broke through the ceiling glass (that...
Gathered from official Valve statements, as far as I can tell, if you authenticate your HL2 online and THEN burn it to CDs or a DVD (or copy it to a removable harddrive or whatever) you won't have to deal with that again if you reformat your drive later.
Steam doesn't stop pirates, but it definitely does slow them down. If more and more games use online-authentication like Valve has demonstrated, we'll all be better off. Developers will earn more money, and in turn produce better games more quickly.
Hardcore software pirates will always be...
Either way you go, you'll be fine. Steam worked like a dream for me. I had the game downloaded and installed weeks before it was out, and a few minutes after release (midnight, when it was supposed to be insanely busy) I just clicked the icon, unlocked, and started to play, without a hitch. If...
It was far better then I could have even imagined.
Yeah, I've been extremely disappointed by several recent sequels like Thief 3, Deus Ex 2, and PoP:WW. I was hoping for the best and fearing the worst during HL2's development. I'll admit I always over-hype a game in my mind, and then when it...
