Operation flashpoint is a fantastic game, but the first person model was really terrible. Do you remember the long rides in trucks and stuff where your shoulder or your really poorly modeled arm blocks a quarter of your screen? It was really distracting. I think some day we'll get good first...
wow, just read that preview - it's like they are talking about a different game! a lot of stuff got cut or changed between when that review was written and when the game actually came out.
I remember getting psyched after reading a preview of Half-Life: Day One (which i warezed :)) on...
Gabe currently drives a BMW 760i (picture)
he's been quoted as saying the iDrive in that car is buggy as hell. Our family car is a 545i, and it's got the second gen iDrive. That's a great little software package, so if gabe wants to stick with the Bimmers (and well he should) I recommend the...

Thanks

ok. yes, you can extract the files, and it will make the files. but they are all encrypted. I can extract "fire1.wav" for the crossbow onto my desktop, but if i try and play it, it says "invalid file type" because it is ENCRYPTED.
i haven't read all pages of this thread, but i was really under then impression that Gabe Newell and Doug Lombardi both said that you could play HL2 without an internet connection
you just couldn't register your product, and you couldn't download updates.
has this been confirmed otherwise?
i find that crouching with the m4 gives you some amazingly accurate first two shots.
practice in an empty map, running crouching, and then shooting at a small target (like a leaflet on the wall in dust for example)
unload half a clip, and try to see how your accuracy is. get a real feel...
