New Valve update: Blue Shift is coming to Steam!

Heh, I thought he said "On steam." Still, if he doesn't have a copy of Blue Shift, I would wager he doesn't have a copy of HL for the PS2. I can STILL find Blue Shift in stores, but I had to get HL PS2 off ebay.

Last I checked, Half-Life: Decay is still only available in PS2 form. Sorry. :D

    Aftermath a corridor to Half-Life 3?

If you want to call "Some of the things we couldn't do in Half-Life 2 we'll have to put into Half-Life 3" a confirmation. It's the sort of confirmation that we've had of Half-Life 2 since 1999. "We're going to make a sequel.. someday."

Why loading so slow? Cause of the 2003 hackers?

    Nope, I defragment frequently.

Why loading so slow? Cause of the 2003 hackers?

I noticed a significant increase in load times from the initial release of Half-Life 2, to the current version, which I suspect are caused by the anti-stuttering measures Valve implemented.

    Aftermath a corridor to Half-Life 3?

Eh, I'd like to see one or two more episodes after Aftermath that continue with Gordon doing the Gman's jobs. Half-Life 3 should be a departure from that dynamic, as HL1 was from HL2. (Half-Life 1, the Gman was a mysterious unknown flittering around the incident. In Half-Life 2/Aftermath, the...

half life 3 for xbox 360 already planned ?

Yes, that was sort of my point... Some stooge got his wires crossed and put up something that he wasn't supposed to. I mean, we KNOW Valve is going to make a Half-Life 3; they've said as much. We also know they don't want a six year developement time like HL2. We can also infer that they're...

half life 3 for xbox 360 already planned ?

Anyone remember when they "announced" Half-Life 2 for the xbox a year before Half-Life 2 was even announced in the first place? More than likely this is just some stooge getting his wires crossed. This IS Microsoft after all.

    Adrian?

Says who? They just didn't want to let Shephard go free. Seems to me that means they care quite a bit about his current status, and that they care about the Gman's opinion on things to be willing to keep Shephard alive instead of just letting him die when Black Mesa was destroyed. And...

    Adrian?

I guess getting the Gman's attention is "nothing of interest" these days. :P

    Opposition Force and Blue Shift

Cool beans; I hadn't heard anything about that in awhile.

    Opposition Force and Blue Shift

Way back when Steam just got out of Beta; Blue Shift and Gunman Chronicles were bothed mentioned as "We got to get these on Steam" by Valve, but I'm guessing the publishing snafu with VU prevented them from doing so. According to Gearbox, Valve has all the source code for Blue Shift and...

    So what's "Aftermath" called?

Blue Shift and Red Shift are terms for the way light changes whether the object is moving towards you or away from you. It's one of the ways we know the universe is expanding. EDIT: And while Opposing Force could, in theory, be referring to something is physics, it's probably a lot more...

    Weekly Steam News (22/07/05)

IIRC, there was also mention of the Combine super-soldier being in Lost Coast. Can't remember where I heard that though. (I think it was during the E3 info buzz.)

    Opposition Force and Blue Shift

Decay is hard to pin down the beginning since up until the experiment starts there's no telling where Gordon is; however, I'd wager it would start after Gordon gets on the tram. Decay ends before Blue Shift though, that's for certain.

    Opposition Force and Blue Shift

I was working on a transcript for Decay.. I got as far as transcribing all the dialog in the .pak file but without my copy (Which is currently lost a friends house :P Rat bastard keeps telling me he's going to go find it and bring it to me.), I can't organize it into a proper transcript...

    Opposition Force and Blue Shift

Also, Decay probably starts at or around when Half-Life starts... If you have access to all four games, I'd recommend playing Half-Life first, then decay, then Blue-Shift, then Opposing Force. They all interlap though so it really doesn't matter when you play them. Blue-Shift starts before...

    Opposition Force and Blue Shift

Uh, no, you're wrong. Blue-Shift starts considerably before that scene. Calhoun goes through a whole tram ride from the dormitories... you even pass Gordon before he even gets on the tram.
