Personally I like realistic. The thought of having to <shudder> wait to respawn adds seriousness to gameplay because you're more careful to not get killed.

You got further than I did. I just got my Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB yesterday. Windows wouldn't load with it in despite me having adequate power supply and updated AGP drivers. Now I'm back on the Geforce 2 Ultra and the Radeon is sitting on my desk.

I want to try and introduce my gf to 1st person games. She likes things with story more than action but I think she might be able to get into HL2. Has Valve said anything about the story of HL2 in regards to that it can carry itself without having to have played HL1 first?
