All the accents are pretty bad. The Medic's German is horrible, the Sniper's Australian and Heavy's Russian is pretty exaggerated, the Spy's French/Spanish/British accent, whatever the hell it mixes, is just strange.
The logo is erroneous! "hl2.net" and "halflife2.net" can lead to disastrous consequences... imagine the hordes of people who will incorrectly type in the url, only to find themselves lost in the wilderness of cyberspace. oh, the horror...
I think Valve should work on an entirely new game in an entirely new universe. Forget this episodic stuff, it's clearly too difficult to implement unless they hire way more people. It's slow as hell and the content is still only on par with a good expansion pack. We're waiting too long for...
*Scratches head* This is your argument style? Is this how you guys debate things around here?
If you think that it takes 10 years to develop Team Fortress 2 in the current iteration that we see it, then be my guest. I'm not here to convince you to be dissatisfied with how it came out. I'm...
You can argue that point or not. You can argue that we can't make our own TF2. You can argue that the game has more improvements than just "the superficial". But how can you argue that 10 years was worth the wait? Did it take 10 years to develop this final version of TF2? Well... no, this...
nope, the guy was absolutely correct. i was gonna post something similar but he beat me to it. Obviously I haven't played TF2 yet, but it's pretty much a certainty that it wasn't worth the 10 years of development. At best it's marginally improved in style and vastly improved in graphics...
I don't believe so. They're all bundled together. But I wouldn't be surprised if they have to calm the fans down by releasing Portal earlier than expected. They've been buying a lot of time already.
On the other hand, I don't like the fact that Valve has gotten into the habit of releasing games with the intent of implementing features and fixes after the release date. I think it makes them complacent while they're developing, because they'll go, "Oh, if we don't make the deadline, we'll...
If only they managed to squeeze this out before Prey, this would've been revolutionary. Pretty amazing gameplay opportunities in Portal.... can't wait to play it.
And it only took seven years, all for nothing "revolutionary."
By now basically everything that was promoted about TF2 has been done in other games. I think I might still have a 1999 PC Gamer preview of TF2 with its crazy promises. :D
