really depends on the look you are going for, there is no real "perfect" setting. Some maps look better with an orange color light and some with a slight blue one. Length should not be anything further than default imo, but you can widen it a bit. Just play around and see what looks good...

Actually none of my previous work really comes close to the amount of detail/effort I am putting into my work for neotokyo. These guys are pros and I am taking my work to a new level because of it but heres a link to my website and a map i recently completed for the upcoming vip mod.

actually no offical map screens have been shown yet (still wip) but the ones on the website are just sandbox maps (for testing). Neotokyo has an interview coming up with mod hq soon and I was asked to get some media shots ready so we should have something from the mapping department to show soon.
It has not be decided yet if we will use hdr since they have coded their own bloom mod for neotokyo. The bloom mod is less hardware intensive and looks just as good (maybe even better) than valves hdr. Last I heard was we may offer both to players and let them decide but thats still up in the air.

actually for your system I think your fps are pretty normal, source is really cpu intensive, might wanna upgrade if you can afford it.
*edit* not that it probably matters but you can set your max fps to a much higher number if you are trying to reach them ;)
i dont know anything about coding, but that might be a good thing cause you might be thinking about this too hard. Just do an overhead map like in dod or ns or any other mod, but position it on the screen and at whatever angle you want so when the person takes contol of a vehicle, the overhead...
