Oh yea - I want to fly out to see a presentation on how to mod a videogame that is not coming out until Fall 2004 - supposedly...
I got better things in my life to waste money on. Call me when HL2 is released - when we have something tangible to actually discuss.
The best presentation for me would be for them to present the damm game on my PC in my house.
BTW - what the hell does Michael Eisner have to do with Half Life 2? Isn't he the Disney guy? Is this an attempt to save face for losing Pixar last week?
That ex-employee that ratted them out should be executed for being a filthy rat - Soprano's Style. Cause once you're in the family, there's no getting out!
It is pretty rediculous how late this game is coming out. In May 2003, Valve tells us to get ready for 9/30/03.
Now we can look forward to seeing what? More bink videos at E3 2004? LOL
They might as well just re-play the videos from last year and get a trained monkey to sit by the monitor...
There's no need to pre-order. I've NEVER seen a PC game sell out on release day. Never. Not even Diablo 2, Warcraft or any of the Sims games. PC games are just cheaper to make (CD-ROM) and can be heavily mass-produced.
Looks like the guys on the boat are pissed off that the guy with the crowbar has been smashing in the windows on their cars.
Just my observation on things.
I think what would happen is that you being the attacking player, would SEE the graphic of Ragdoll Physics being performed on your target. But ME as your target would just see the usual red blotches when I was hit.
It wouldn't be a real-time reaction that both of us would see/experience. You...
I am more looking forward to Far Cry now then either HL2 or Doom3. Mainly because they gave us a Demo to play with and I am totally impressed with the Water'Lighting effects, the Draw Distance and the Tactics-Based AI on Hard difficulty.
I think the Crytek engine has some serious potential.
Retailers will post whatever date Vivendi gives them. If they are not given any date, they either make one up or go with the last confirmed date.
All retailers want is your money ahead of time.
I wish they did have internal deadlines for things to do with Half Life 2. People work better under a schedule then they do without one. People who hold onto something for too long tend to get lazy and just do occasional "touch-ups" rather then push themselves to be complete. For them to say...
TBA = Valve has not given Vivendi any idea when the game will be ready because they themselves have no idea when it will be done. I'm not even sure Valve knows how to identify when it will be done.
