After 'quite some time' of it looking like it was doing nothing I finally got the update and so far it's seemed to be working pretty well today. :)

That's a great idea for anyone thinking of a realism/tactical sort of mod and assuming the hitbox detection is polygon perfect I guess it must be do-able too.

And also if you lose your connection & want to Single player it up some or fancy some 1.5 then you will want to keep your original install.
I've vaped mine and not had any bad effects yet though. :)

Yeah seriously my friend, don't waste money on a PCI graphics card now, just save some and get a system with an AGP slot. You have bigger problems with your kit than just the video card if you haven't got one already! :(

My ASE has just picked up that I have Steam HL & CS installed and created the groups for it on its own so I can't imagine why yours hasn't. :(
Well I don't know about that but I agree about the hitbox detection.
Those could really do with some work.
Does anyone know if HalfLife 2 is using Hitboxes or per poly detection like D3? Because I can tell you hitting stuff in the D3 multiplayer demo @ quakecon meant you needed to be...
I doubt it. certainly we haven't seen it if so. And I'm not convinced we need it.

I'm glad you're up and running. :) Yeah it just needs some time to convert the cache files into the proper game directory trees so the first time you start any game (even if you have all the cache predownloaded) it's going to take a while.

Also if you have switched on the localisation filter you will be filtering loads and loads out because a number of servers don't have their locale properly set, or set at all.
