of course you'll be able to play hl2 retail over steam, thats the idea. downloading it via steam is just a second way to purchase it, instead of going to a store. you know? if youre going to buy it retail, its no use downloading this pre-load stuff.

no-one knows what's included in the files you downloaded. who knows. its very likely that you've downloaded the misc-stuff for hl2, and of course a lot of these things are going to be changed these days. but this pre-load still is a very good sign. valve must have come to a point where they...

basically yes, i like the skin, its very well fragmented for the different sections. but you should remove that 'disco-strider' image in the head, thats looks crappy. anyways, i'd slightly prefer the actual skin.
