steam is probably already set up to check those sort of things. otherwise, you could remake counter-strike with the same netcode, but make it display special things (wink), and connect to normal counter-strike servers.
the source code released is the sdk. why? let's look at half-life 1's sdk.
1)
they gave you the full source for half-life 1, but no actual engine code. if you look through the released source, you will find the full half-life 2 source.
2)
you will also find actual engine code. gabe has...
i'm pretty sure this is just the sdk. it doesn't include any of the bsp's or models or sounds that half-life 2 uses, because if they released the sdk to dev teams early (dod team) they wouldn't give them those things.
has anyone determined that this is not just the sdk? valve has said the sdk gives you almost full control over all aspects of the engine, so this very well could have been leaked by someone who already has the sdk, ie dod development team.
which you know! because you've played it!
oops, that was an alpha.
let's see... dynamic lighting is interactive. it also has a physics engine, you know :\
hahaha. i went around the whole map, and i was about to post about how disappointed i was... and then i went back to the very beginning, and finally found my avatar :D
nice map. lovin' it.
