guys i want your opinion on something:
do you think it would be better if i made the user choose the folder where the source files(smds, tgas and qc) for the model are?
or should i just leave it as it is, with the user creating a folder under 'model_compiling_files' and placing the files in it?
ok iv finished the tutorial. you can get it at hl2world or by putting "hl2world" & ".com" where the "*******" is in this link:
http://www.*************/wiki/index.php/Static_and_Physics_Models_with_HL2_Compile_Toolkit
i wrote it in one day so there is probably something completely wrong with...
well from experience iv found that a very small model can have problems and can make it difficult to see in model viewer. maybe yours is so small you cant see it :/
to answer your 2nd question: yes.
and im just about finished writing a tutorial on how to make static and physics models with...
hmm...
i seem to remember this happened ot me months ago and i think it was because my VMT was not "VertexLitGeneric" but yours is.
i can tell you its no fault of my programme's and its either something with your model or with the textures/vmts.
i dont think this will actually fix it but...
biotek(or anyone) hav u tryed compiling a weapon model yet?
bananasalat - first of all make sure you've selected the 'Copy to Game' option.
if you did then im guessing its either something wrong with your textures or your model.
post your QC file and your VMT file here.
and just to...
Update - version 1.2.0
ok here's the update i mentioned a few posts up^
unfortunately the Launch HLMV feature has been delayed because of problems with the app. however everything else is included and more.
please give me feedback to say that it is working ok for you(hopefully :p ). or...
hl2world
unfortunately this site has some hate for hl2world and doesnt allow you to type hl2world_.com.
replace this link with "hl2world" & ".com" where the "******" is
http://www.*************/wiki/index.php/Ragdoll_Models
or just go to the modelling section of hl2world tutorials and...
well done orko!
i should be releasing another update tomorrow guys. version 1.2.0
im happy with its functionality of the programme so i have moved it on to 1.2 and removed it from BETA.
iv also added a few things:
-compile weapon models
-launch HLMV (half-life model viewer)...
if you're really serious about this then i would suggest trying to see your own model to compile first. and when/if you manage to get that working then try this decompiled model again.
can anyone tell me if you can use the ragdoll settings of:
Inertia
Damping
Rotdamping
Bias
in a physics model?
i suspect you cant use all of them as some seem specific to ragdolls. but im thinking maybe inertia?
anyway if someone could clear this up for me i would appreciate it...
sorry about the sequences line, i type too fast :P
about the textures.
firstly, have you selected the Copy to Game check box? if you didnt then thats your problem.
else it could be that you didnt set your model up with the texture properly. and did you edit the VMT file(s) ? if so then...
ofcourse iv done it, iv done it all. i COULD fix your problem if i had your source files n stuff but i cant go around doing that for everyone can i?
one thing you can do; try and find out where the error lies. test the model ingame and read the console for any message regarding your model...
i take it you dont want it to have any actual animation?
well just add this line to your qc:
$sequences idle "testcube" fps 1
this works because your reference SMD: testcube.smd, doesnt have any animation in it. so the model doesnt move.
and so you did the exact same thing this time...
