Update
Update:
OK, ran the game with the "-nointro" line where it boots you straight to the console when the game starts. This console w/o menu showed 127fps locked, you then hit esc to get the menu and it drops to 60fps locked. Apparently it *is* the game and not the settings in windows or...
This one is for Doom 3:
Running Doom 3 in any mode at any resolution (typically 640x480 - 1024x768) results in absolutely no change in maximum FPS. It seems to always be locked at 60fps. Now get this, using the Sapphire Redline utility I can lock a resolutions refresh rate manually. All of...
Finally someone explains it! So what happens when a user/dummy sets it to twice his/her amount of available RAM? Does it hose?
Now if we could get an explanation of CPU thermal throttling.....lol. We know what it does, but which way does it work? I.E.: 20% TT, does it slow the CPU by 20% or...
I do not want replacement batteries, that is why I am asking here. That stuff is easy to do. I want batteries that will not only last longer when used, but that will last longer in life overall. These stock batteries suck, although I get two packs per pad, I still have to keep charging them...
OK, got kind of an interesting question here.
A specific battery model type replacement for a Saitek P3000 Wireless Battery Pack. Does anyone know where I can find replacements for these? Preferably not the same ones, something like energizer would be nice. Must be rechargeable too.
Model...
Interesting, just caught the post by Azrael that was closed I guess because of this one? Anyway, did Ubisoft really officially recall the patch because of ATi issues? I have noticed absolutely no issues whatsoever, if anything it's running better than it was before! Or are the effects noticeable...
getting back on topic
It seems that gameplay has sped up quite a bit, averaging in 10-20 MORE fps on fully loaded settings for a whopping 65-90fps total.
That and the loading screens seem to be as borked as the saved games. Crashing out (not BSOD) to the desktop during "some" of the loading...
OMG, I just checked for a new patch for Far Cry and it turned out that the day after I re-installed it they released a new patch v1.2. What got me was the number of fixes, I never even knew it was that bad?
Far Cry v1.2 Fix List
It's gross the number of bugs, but cool that they fixed most...
Welcome to the world of Linksys. Numero uno reason I threw mine away, what you are talking about is SYN Flooding or also known as Denial Of Service attacks. Linksys really sucks when it comes down to DOS attacks, my best recommendation is to go completely DHCP, and get rid of those static...
Exactly, I even want to say that they are "revised" becuase the problems listed with the ATi stock drivers never showed up in my applications on the "older" sapphire drivers which had the same revision number. Honestly I don't mind too much about out of date or delayed drivers, just stability.
Yeah, ABIT's FTP server went down I think, flooded maybe. All I know is that there was a brand new driver release and I was BARELY able to get my mobo drivers last night.
As for your question, ABIT has a util called flashmenu. It is an optional installation that is actually quite nice, I did...
Yes in fact, I constantly run mine maxed out both in windows settings (ATi control panel) and in games. My combination is 3200Barton with Atlantis 9800Pro, even the lower models do the same, a friend of mine has an Atlantis 9700Pro running beside a 2500Barton, he too runs everything maxed out. I...
::jokes::
I would just take an x800 XT and a 6800 Ultra and duct tape them together that way I have the best of both worlds. :D
::serious::
never really worried much about what others are doing, just kinda sitting back and watching what happens.
Besides, don't cards like this just get...
I had a card draw some blue lines and bars with red dotz before, I took it back, it was a POS 8500LE. I found out it was the card by pushing *up* on it while it was running 3d apps. The bars changed shape and color.
I am now sitting happily with a sapphire 9800pro which I must say has no...
This one really got my attention, just tonight......one of my fans began humming. Then it started to sound like a chipset fan gone bad. But it was too loud of a noise to be chipset or any of the other Quiter, and slower fans. Noting both my FAN RPM's I saw that one was in the high 3000's and the...
@ guinny
Classic :D
BTW nice job with the Socket 939, I always wanted one :(
@ otherz
Does ATi's "Trade Up Program" allow somewhat of a "rebate" on a new card by trading in your old one? I read the FAQ's but they were somewhat indirect, that or I misread.
If so, do they accept...
God I hate moving important files >>shivers<<
Anyway, got my mits on a new WD 100GB SE! Got it for $35 and a WD 40GB! So here was my layout:
C: - Master - WD40GB
D: - Slave - WD40GB
T: - Slave - WD100GBSE (on IDE2)
I am replacing D: with T: (It's labeled T so I don't run into issues...
Heh, beats me, I was just tossing out ideas.
BIOS huh? Odd. Perhaps the card was just bad?
Fun Fact - On OLD OLD monitors if you crank up the refresh rate, it will burn into the screen. Since the tube cannot compensate for the higher refresh rate it will begin to draw the image at one...
