The sapphire redline software and also the Rage Tweak software have an option called "Shimmer Fix". It's some hokey thing for trinitron and diamondmax monitors if you experince issues with flickering or shimmering. In this case if your new card somes in and it still flickers (god forbid) try...
Speaking of render farms......how about Calc Farms! My personal favorite.
Earth Simulator
They operate at a whopping 35 Teraflops! That should be:
35,000,000,000,000 Flops <--can someone verify that?
Flop: Floating point operations per second. A measure of how fast a computer is...
Anyone see this thing yet? I saw an ad and laughed for 10 minutes. Then tried it.......and laughed for 30 more! :E
BENCH IT (NOT)
It doesn't even really check (relatively).
It's classic to see the "Will it run on my computer" meter pegged out.
It states in MOST liscense agreements that 1 copy can be made for backup purposes only. Figuring that you have a legit copy.
Multiple thousand dollar programs have this agreement, their licence system is almost flawless, so they can trust in most people to make backups so they don't have a...
OH Yeah beat this!!!
Pentium 1 200Mhz
64MB SDRAM
Integrated Video @ 2MB
3DMark01: Failed
3DMark03: Failed to install
Aquamark: Failed
UT2k3: Not Enough HDD Space
That was on my old system.
My new system will not be benched anytime soon, it is still too new. I don't...
Room temperature can play a large factor in temps, so can in-case circulation. With my CPU, it pulls cold air directly from the outside of the case, I can sufficate it with my hand and watch the CPU gain heat. I remove my hand and it falls back down. :rolling:
It may over time, but then again, we're talking about a few years before it begins to show signs of evaporation. Come to think of it, what is the real purpose of a resevior? I mean, if the tubes leak, i don't think lack of fluid is you biggest problem....lol.
That does not sound good. I have EXACTLY the same setup, 3200, ATi 9800Pro, and the nForce 2 Mobo from Abit, the AN7. I should note that the AN7 does handle my cooling alot better than my previous nForce 2 board. Running my Volcano 11 with a Cold Air Duct mod, it idles around 44C and tops at 50C
Well, upon further and further searching I found my MoBo's actual model number. Thinking it was the later revision of the nForce 2 platform it turned out to only be the first. The actual number was 75FRN-L, the one I thought it was, was 75FRN2-L. Revision 2 did something mine didn't and i think...
Soltek 75FRN2-L
That's my board, I do have the autoshutdown enabled, but only when it rockets up to 75C. It has saved my other CPU many times especially when the heatsink jammed on top of the shim! As for thermal throttling I have that too, I set it to disabled and my system now runs more...
OK, now I know this can't be right. I need someone to test this. In the BIOS there is an unexplained but kind of known feature called Thermal Throttling. Supposedly it slows your CPU when it hit's a certain temp?
What I need is someone to check these stats for me who has specs similar to an...
AH yes, that and their driver releases and types are different. I cannot run ATI's stock card drivers on my sapphire 9800Pro card, I must get them from sapphiretech.com
Not only that but the software package and tools are different, mine came with Redline and a few other bundles goodies.
Quite true, a wise shopper can in fact double his orders, build two systems and still have enough money to fill a car up with gas :E
$2.01 a gallon down here and still rising! :frown:
In my opinion:
For 32-bit get the XP3200 (Barton) and some sort of nForce2 board.
For 64-bit get something like a 3200-3400 AMD 64 or even an AMD 64-FX series chip, relatively more but faster nonetheless.
Newegg <--no longer seems to work?
RADEON X800 series card, the X800 XT and X800Pro...
OH wow.
OK, I think I found some of the problem, I am now seeing that alot of my games settings seem lost as if the operating system had been reloaded, htye are still there but the settings are all off. I am guessing this is from the CPU change. I re-installed alot of them and they seem ok...
