this is the old "in a car, throw a brick" ok here goes, your in a car travelling at 100km/h throw a brick forward out the window at 20km/h it hits the guy standing on the side of the road at 120km/h (neglecting air resistance) WRONG!!! it hits the person at...
it is best to cut the hole out yourself, like add the extrusions and intrusions yourself. for the little details so it isn't flat, just add some noise and then sew the seams together.
we cannot alter physics laws. (they may not be right, but what ever law is correct, we cannot alter. everything is as it is and we cannot do a damn thing about it)
although it is possible to reach a point B from A faster than light, if you find a spot where space is curved.
Cosmic strings, the...
man, aerodynamics just will not be seen in a game for a long time. this is fluid dynamics and before it is applied to air it will be applied to water, but the number of calcutations required would be enormous and lagg even the fastest present day computers if decent graphics were added.

c is constant, the speed of light is not.
light can be slowed down, e.g. when it passes through glass or air it is infact travelling slower than when it passes through free space.
light is thought of a wave and particles, the particle-wave duality theorem or whatever, my brains on...
it is impossible to accelerate anything with mass up to or beyond the speed of light. The faster a body is moving, the more mass it gains, hence at light speed you would need an infinate force to accelerate the body.
Einstein never said that there aren't things going faster than the speed of...
just a question, what era are we talking about?

you really want to choose a specific path to follow, like 3d modelling for example, play around in the programs read some tutorials try make some models. You could also study the human body and learn how to draw properly, it will all give you experience. Just keep at it, one day you'll wake up...
its not so much that, its more that people take modding too seriously nowadays. It just seems that mods aren't created cuz some guys goes, ooooo that sounds like fun, ill post my vague idea and see if people like it. Only mod i can think that has done that recently is the dooples mod on hl2w0rld.
ill usually get a mental picture of it, but they're pretty vague, so if im either not by hammer or can't be bothered mapping ill just sketch it out and if im feeling particularly arty ill do it neatly.
after having typed "buildcubemaps" into the console and its done its stuff, then type "restart" This reloads the map and should save the information to the bsp.
There is documentation on this in the erc site.
Any and all mappers out there who want to improve mapping techniques or contribute to the community, this is the place to go, over 50 tutorials for hl2 and css mapping.

I personally don't really like the shiney water, but thats just me =/
maybe you could add so vines and over growth so it doesn't look so prim and proper.
