I spent $120 for BCB6 Professional : )
Got it from school bookstore at mega-educational-discount rate. The best thing about it is that it maintains full functionality! I have a $1k piece of software on my computer that I didn't steal! I also have MSVC++ 6 Enterprise edition... but that one I...
Quite obviously a piece of info/dialog taken from his upcoming mod, OES ;)
The sender/recipient e-mail names end in .gov.... so I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that that means ALIENS! :)
Well, as far as learning... compsci courses don't normally include windows programming. It's extra-stuff. I've learned how to write a windows app minus the extras, as well. I think that I have a great teacher. He's been preparing us for a lot of stuff that other CS students will have to dive...
Any nifty features? Borland Builder lets me drag and drop windows components onto a form and edit them with a smart object editor. Very nifty. I am not sure how to use MSVC very well, but it didn't seem like there was anything visual about it, imo. With borland, I can just double-click on a...
I dunno about you guys, but my CS1 teacher started a revolution for me when he introduced Borland's C++ Builder 6 as his preferred IDE. After trying MSVC, and Borland Builder, I have decided that Borland Builder kicks the crap out of MSVC as far as ease of use and overall functionality...
You sure? Me go write crappy program real quick to check myself :-p
edit: Okay, okay. You're right. 5/3 in integer math is 1. But the method still won't give you the right answer!
Note to self: do error checking before posting embarrassing mistakes in coder-central
I think it'd be great if someone modded the entire HL1 game into the Source engine with updated textures and all those goodies to make it up to standards with HL2... then used it as a LEAD-IN to HL2... IE, you play through HL1, then after making your decision, you wake up in HL2 remembering your...
I don't think the buzz will die with HL2. It's not even out yet, however, it remains the only thing that we think about! When it does release, there won't even be room for anything else!
But wait! G-Man knew he would choose to live, because he chose to live when he had to make the decision in Gordon's place! lol. Point is... it's a game! Anything is possible in a game. Don't expect G-Man to be future Gordon. G-Man is a total sissy.
BTW... G-Man = Government Man
I dunno jack crap about .net! What are you talking about with all this .net stuff? Microsoft Visual C++ is not a bad tool... it's just really geared toward the do-it yerself programmer. If I'm writing a windows program, I don't wanna have to sit there and do all that object code when I could...
I had a freeware version of it awhile back to play around with. I never played with it enough to learn anything good, though. I think I might take it up again. Thanks, ghost :)
I don't think that XSI is very similar to Maya. I have the full maya 4.0. I have nooo idea how to model, though! There really isn't a "best" compiler for C++. Just find an editor that you like using and stick with that. I prefer Borland C++ Builder! It's great! I do have one piece of advice...
