Man, you are SO right. I can remember a time when those were my exact thoughts, I was truly happy when I managed to get 4KB/s on the good ole Napster...
ah, nostalgia
thank god for dsl
Fixed or not, it was very compelling television....especially the pause of a whole minute after he made a mistake and pulled the trigger to shoot empty chamber into the sandbag! You could just see his mind working desperately.
Good BBC article here...
Yeah, its a great oldie. I was actually thinking of one of the esmer alien soldiers from LBA2: Twinsen's Odyssey. Never thought I'd be talking about this series again! Still has replay value, too.
Sorry, I may have been a bit ambiguous. I thought you intended to archive the files as AVIs or maybe MPGs to view on CDs for use on a dvd player. To rip a movie from a DVD in the drive you want to use smartripper to download thr .VOB files (...
Does your DVD player support the VCD format? If so, use VirtualDub to cut out the clip from the movie, or if you already have the clips prepared use "TMPGEnc" to convert them to MPG format.
Then use Nero or another cd burning program that supports writing to VCD format...
If its acronyms you get confused by, this is a great site:

doesnt work for words like pwned but all the abbreviations are there...
Its a corruption of the word "Owned." It started in the online game Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."
Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."
It basically means "to own" or to be...
Ok, for the record this is NOT my desk - its messy, but not like this! Check out this attachment: was on a viral email circulating recently. "The geek's den".
The film "Kalifornia" is showing at 11:00 tonight on Channel4 - its an adaptation of the book by Marc Laidlaw, so you might want to check it out to get an idea of his other works.
Its nothing like the Half Life series, but for anyone interested in the guy behind it - give it a try.
Overall, my fav monster would have to be the ichthyosaur as its a fantastic design, but the one that really makes me jump is the mutated sort of Zombie in OP4 - very powerful and very scary when you walk into it round a corner!
Here's a little experiment with the Valve logo, just playing with background shading really. I have the source files if anyone wants a PSD of the Valve text and number 1000.
Hey, if you want to see something scary related to language, you should check out the longest possible word combination there is. Its a chemical formula, so its not strictly in the dictionary but I assure you it is real - try searching for the 1st few letters on google or something to verify...
Personally, I really enjoyed the original Homeworld, it was a very diverse and entertaining game and still is - cool dynamic soundscapes as well, similar to what we will see in HL2 (which does of course pwn other games in general but thats aside the point). I will still look forward to Homeworld...
Just would like to register my problem on this thread also. Got the greyed out games as well, doesnt do anything when I try to install, properties are set not to update (greyed out too) and all with no error messages. Doncha love inexplicable bugs?
think he took some diapers up with him - maybe he waits till like 3 in the morning or something when nobody's watching then does what he's gotta do. :x
Well basically he's been suspended by tower bridge in London in a clear plexiglass box. He's going to stay up there for 44 days (As his birthday is the 4th of the 4th month - mystical or something?) with no food but just water. I've been watching him with my RealOne broadband subscription.....it...
